The Abyss

• ???^[1]: The evil goddess Shar^[2] breeds the first Devoratrices out of Succubus stock to serve as her Shadow Inquisitors.
• ???: Succubus Slap, having disappointed her master or masters by failing to corrupt Evanar, is subjected to punishments horrific even unto a demon.
• ???: A portal to the Demiplane of Dread opens onto a certain layer of the Abyss. Succubus Slap is released from her punishment so she can be forced to go through the portal and report back on what she finds. The portal closes with Slap on the other side.

Amber^[3]

• 54 A.F.A.^[4]: Oberon, King of Amber, encounters the Witch Crissilda while touring the ring of Shadows closest to Amber. He spends a day and a night in her hut before continuing on his journey.
• 55 A.F.A.: The Witch Crissilda gives birth to fraternal twins due to the 'visit' by King Oberon of Amber: a boy she names Trieres, and a girl she names Arkura. Later this same year, agents of Amber come to collect mother and children in spite of Crissilda's vocal objections. Crissilda is put up at the royal palace of Amber as a concubine, whereas her children are raised by the King's servants. Already heartsick due to being away from her home, Crissilda soon starts receiving negative attention from Oberon's legal wife, Queen Cymnea.
• 59 A.F.A.: In the Courts of Chaos, a second son is born to the House of Bleykoven. The boy is named Sare, and his care is largely left to the House's demonic servants, while his parents lavish their attention on the firstborn son of the House.
• 63 A.F.A.: The Witch Crissilda dies in what is considered to be a freak accident, but was actually arranged by a courtier loyal to Queen Cymnea, albeit without the Queen's knowledge. King Oberon lets the matter pass, save for a none-too-subtle remark before the court that while wives and concubines may come and go, his offspring should be sacrocanct.
• 65 A.F.A.: Arkura, illegitimate daughter of King Oberon and the now-deceased Witch Crissilda, starts studying under Dworkin Barimen, great sage of Amber and master of the Pattern. She is highly intelligent for her age and absorbs knowledge like a sponge.
• 69 A.F.A.: Sare of Bleykoven is scarred by his older brother in a supposed play-fight that turns out to be an attempt to remove him from the House's succession. Sare survives but is blinded in one eye, preventing him from engaging in the painting and drawing that he loves most. As his elders show no sympathy and attribute the 'accident' to his 'clumsiness', Sare grows bitter, distant and hateful towards his family.
• 70 A.F.A.: Sare of Bleykoven starts his formal education in the Courts of Chaos well ahead of schedule, having petitioned the loremasters to consider him - and incidentally to be able to get away from his older brother Rumaleic.
• 71 A.F.A.: Trieres, illegitimate son of King Oberon of Amber and the now-deceased Witch Crissilda, is caught slipping poison to his older half-brothers by Queen Cymnea in a bid to secure his own eventual ascension to the throne. Oberon removes Trieres from Castle Amber without the benefit of initiation into the Pattern and strands him in a distant and primal Shadow realm, where neither technology nor sorcery will function. While this is supposedly exile, it is for all intents and purposes a death sentence.
• 71 A.F.A.: King Oberon forcefully ends his illegitimate daughter Arkura's tutelage under Dworkin and announces his decision to see her engaged to the crown prince of the nearby Shadow-realm Welkür in order to seal an alliance. In the dead of night, Arkura makes her way to the chamber of the Pattern and manages to survive its initiation, allowing her to travel independently through Shadow. Oberon is displeased, but formally acknowledges Arkura as a princess of Amber, and allows her to resume her studies for the duration of her engagement.
• 72 A.F.A.: Arkura, Princess of Amber, starts travelling the Golden Circle of Shadows allied to Amber, studying local customs, history and sorcery. While her travels range to the very ends of these allied realms, she grudgingly obeys the edict of Oberon that she not travel beyond them.
• 75 A.F.A.: The firstborn heir of House Bleykoven of Chaos, Rumaleic, suffers a riding accident that leaves him paraplegic. He accuses his younger brother Sare of having done something to his mount, but in spite of investigation by the House and independent authorities, there is zero evidence of this. Sare reacts with nothing but scorn to the accusation.
• 77 A.F.A.: Sare of Bleykoven has fully regenerated his eye and survives his initiation in the deadly Logrus. Once the madness from his initiation passes, as his first act as a technically mature adult, he legally divorces himself from the House of Bleykoven, renaming himself Sare of Chaos. As his second act, he departs the Courts for Shadow, intending and vowing out loud never to return.
• 77 A.F.A.: Rumaleic, firstborn son and heir of House Bleykoven in the Courts of Chaos, starts using shapeshifting in an attempt to heal his paraplegia ahead of schedule. He does so out of concern that the House elders will consider him an unfit heir, now that his younger brother Sare has already overcome the Logrus initiation and set himself up as an independent.
• 81 A.F.A.: King Oberon of Amber recalls his daughter, Princess Arkura, from her travels around the Golden Circle. As her fiancé has now aged to the point that he and Arkura at least appear to be the same age, the King demands that Arkura should travel to the Shadow-realm Welkür, where she must become Queen. Amid much pomp and ceremony, Arkura departs in icy silence, a cold distance between herself and her remaining blood relatives.
• 81 A.F.A.: Princess Arkura of Amber arrives in her fiancé's home of Welkür and is welcomed with much pomp and ceremony. While she fulfills her role with perfect etiquette, her heart is unmoved by the decayed glory of her new home and the nervous attentions of her fiancé, the crown prince Hugo.
• 85 A.F.A.: Princess Arkura of Amber is formally married to crown prince Hugo of Welkür after an appropriate courtship. Hugo's father uses the opportunity to abdicate, leaving the young couple as king and queen of the corrupted realm.
• 85 A.F.A.: Rumaleic of Bleykoven has seemingly overcome his paraplegia well ahead of schedule, but starts suffering inexplicable bouts of exhaustion.
• 86 A.F.A.: Sare of Chaos has built himself a home in Shadow, which he calls the Castle of Cards. The 'Castle' is part painter's atelier, part gallery, part house, and all-round a cozy den for a bachelor with a love of solitude. To keep his mind sharp, Sare continues to study the secrets of the Logrus and Sorcery when not busying himself with his paintings and sketches of far-off realms and peoples.
• 88 A.F.A.: Rumaleic of Bleykoven learns that his unsupervised use of shapeshifting has caused an outbreak of cancerous tumors inside his body. He tries the aid of healers, sorcery and more shapeshifting to treat the problem, but before the end of the year his paraplegia returns.
• 91 A.F.A.: Arkura of Amber, Queen of Welkür, is now fully convinced that she and her husband King Hugo are not fertile together. She encourages him to take on a second wife to secure the royal succession, and assures him she does not, in fact, see doing so as an insult to the royal house of Amber. When King Oberon of Amber sends letters expressing a different point of view, Arkura destroys these before Hugo can see them.
• 92 A.F.A.: Arkura of Amber organizes and judges a series of trials to find a second bride for her husband, King Hugo. In spite of everyone's expectations, the trials are fair and take Hugo's own preferences as well as the needs of the kingdom into account.
• 92 A.F.A.: Now freed of the duty of childbearing, Arkura offers her husband King Hugo an amicable divorce. Hugo, who fears reprisals from Amber, does not accept the divorce, but offers Arkura a position at the head of a new ministry with carte blanche to improve the kingdom. While Arkura is no politician, she finds the challenge of improving Welkür more interesting than playing Queen, and she accepts.
• 92 A.F.A.: As the cancerous growths in his body increase - returning almost as soon as they can be removed - Rumaleic of Bleykoven is rendered a quadriplegiac.
• 100 A.F.A.: Arkura discovers a Broken Pattern in Welkür and secretly undergoes its initiation. Once she has recovered from the experience, she founds an order of mystics and sorcerers to not only guard the Broken Pattern, but properly prepare anyone who wishes to undertake its initiation.
• 160 A.F.A.: King Hugo of Welkür dies of old age, survived by two sons, two daughters and two wives, one of whom is Arkura of Amber - as youthful and vital today as she was when they first got married.
• 160 A.F.A.: Arkura of Amber abdicates the throne of Welkür in spite of national outcry and the pleas of her late husband's second wife and children. She feels her ministry has served its purpose, as Welkür is now a strong nation with national health service, schools and colleges, and trade agreements with neighbouring Shadows. As her last act in Welkür, she formally relinquishes her title of Princess of Amber, so as to prevent her father King Oberon from using her for any future plans, then wanders into Shadow.
• 161 A.F.A.: In Shadow Welkür, a cult starts worshipping the former queen, Arkura late of Amber, as 'Mother of the Nation' and 'Eternal Queen'. As the cult receives the endorsement of the royal family, it starts to supplant the Church of the Unicorn that was previously the state religion.
• 184 A.F.A.: Rumaleic of Bleykoven is killed in his own bed with a gentle poison by a contracted demon - at his own request, as the pain and indignity of his condition had become too much for him.
• 189 A.F.A.: Sare of Chaos returns to the Castle of Cards after an extended stay on Toril and other worlds to review his books of lore and question other sources, seeking a higher initiation suitable for Evanar, Mystra's unwilling Mother of Champions. He discovers mention of the Broken Patterns that can be found in proximity to Amber.
• 190 A.F.A.: Sare of Chaos finds the Shadow Ember in close proximity to Amber. He manages to survive initiating himself in its local Broken Pattern, but the experience leaves him mentally and physically ill. In his moment of weakness, he comes under assault from a knight all in silver, and barely manages to escape to the Castle of Cards. Reluctantly, Sare summons demons contracted to his family in House Bleykoven to prevent himself from bleeding out and nurse him back to health.
• 190 A.F.A.: As Sare of Chaos slips into a coma due to his injuries, the contracted demons tending to him rush him back to House Bleykoven in the Courts of Chaos. The House elders lavish all possible medical care on Sare, as he is now the sole remaining heir.
• 195 A.F.A.: Sare of Chaos awakens from his coma to find himself a virtual prisoner in House Bleykoven in the Courts of Chaos. Guarded round the clock by demons and enchanted with spells of restriction, he is forced to undergo the advanced education needed for him to eventually inherit the House.
• 400 A.F.A.: For the first time in 205 years, Sare of Chaos is allowed access to canvas and paints. He tries to create magical paintings that will allow him to contact his old friend Evanar, but all fail to connect. (Unknown to Sare, Evanar's physical appearance has been changed due to her acquisition of the Shawl of Truth.)
• 405 A.F.A.: Sare of Chaos has finally finished chipping away at the spells enforcing his obedience to House Bleykoven, and subverted the obedience of or replaced his demonic prison guards. Instead of making a big show of his breakout, he quietly slips into Shadow and returns to the ruins of his Castle of Cards. To his chagrin, most of the House demons follow him and start rebuilding his home into a proper fortress.
• 505 A.F.A.: Sare of Chaos finds himself completely unable to contact his friend Evanar. As he does not realize this is due to interference by Mystra, he comes to believe Evanar has somehow found the peace she sought in death, and he enters into mourning, withdrawing into the inner chambers of his Castle of Cards.
• 2009 A.F.A.: Worship of Arkura has completely supplanted the Church of the Unicorn in Shadow Welkür. The order Arkura founded in Welkür to guard the local Broken Pattern starts Shadow-shifting in search of other Broken Patterns to protect, and names itself, simply, 'the Blue Order'.
• 2010 A.F.A.: Troops from Amber, sent by King Oberon but commanded by Prince Benedict, subjugate Shadow Welkür for the razing of its Unicorn shrines, and replace the royal family with more manageable nobles. The Blue Order's headquarters and the shrines dedicated to Arkura are destroyed.
• 3089 A.F.A.: Arkura of Amber completes her study of the Broken Patterns and the sorcery that can be used with their aid, and compiles what she has learned in a series of nine books. She returns to Shadow Welkür to present copies to the Blue Order, but is shocked at the changes to the kingdom she tried to uplift. Her appearance sparks a nationwide revolt against Amber, and Welkür erupts into civil war. Arkura is a highly reluctant figurehead for the rebels who wish to free their homeland.
• 3189 A.F.A.: Arkura is injured in battle by Corwin, a Prince of Amber, and forced to flee into Shadow. She finds and settles down in a bleak and unpopulated realm she calls Emeria to recuperate.
• 3200 A.F.A.: Shadow Welkür is all but destroyed, its people extinct. King Oberon, believing that Arkura had plotted the destructive war, strikes her name from the family records and the official histories of Amber.
• 3200 A.F.A.: Distraught by the annihilation of Welkür, Arkura wanders into Shadow, shapeshifting as she goes. She eventually arrives in the pristine Shadow Ember, whose natural beauty gradually soothes her heart as she wanders its deep forests in the form of a panther.
• 3242 A.F.A.: Sare of Chaos returns to Shadow Ember to paint its unspoiled natural beauty. He is immediately attacked by the knight in silver upon arrival, but this time he is alert and in good health, allowing him to overcome and kill the guardian creature. Unknown to him at the time, he is observed by Arkura of Amber.
• 3392 A.F.A.: Prince Julian of Amber 'discovers' Shadow Ember and starts hunting there regularly. He also opens up the realm to merchants and the armies of Amber, who start plundering the realm's natural resources. Shadow Ember enters into its one hundred years of autumn.
• 3534 A.F.A.: Sare of Chaos discovers the damage to Shadow Ember. He starts to roam the land, shapeshifted into the form of a black unicorn, driving despoilers back to Amber and planting spells as traps.
• 3540 A.F.A.: Prince Julian of Amber hunts Sare of Chaos in his unicorn disguise. Sare is saved only by the intercession of a blue female unicorn, who turns out to be a similarly shapeshifted Arkura of Amber. The two exiles come to a cautious understanding on the grounds that they both love Shadow Ember and want to preserve it.
• 3604 A.F.A.: Combining their respective mastery of Pattern and Logrus magic through the medium of the Broken Pattern, Arkura of Amber and Sare of Chaos 'cut' the Shadow connections between Amber and Ember, making it impossible to find the Shadow realm without meeting highly specific conditions. They each create a new guardian to replace the mysterious knight in silver. While Sare settles down in Ember to restore its beauty, Arkura returns to her own home, the bleak Shadow Emeria, where she begins construction on a fortress home capable of moving between various Shadows.
• 3991 A.F.A.: The Primal Pattern is damaged, and the Patternfall War between Amber and the Courts of Chaos begins.
• 36 A.P.F.^[5]: Swayvill, King of Chaos, dies. Merlin, son of Corwin and Dara, is crowned the next King of Chaos.
• 45 A.P.F.: Laurent, illegitimate son of Prince Gérard of Amber and a Begman ambassadrice, is born in Shadow Begma. The ambassadrice notifies Gérard once she is able to, but Gérard is embarrassed by the whole affair and does not come to claim the boy.
• 63 A.P.F.: Laurent, illegitimate son of Prince Gérard of Amber, forcefully tags along with his mother during a diplomatic visit to Castle Amber and presents himself before King Random as a member of the royal family, claiming all the rights and privileges associated therewith. Gérard continues to be embarrassed by the situation, but grudgingly vouches for the boy and arranges for him to receive a provisory royal education, awaiting the final test to ensure he really carries the blood of Amber: initiation in the Pattern. To his mother's distress, Laurent declares his intention to remain at court, rather than travel between Amber and Begma.
• 69 A.P.F.: Laurent of Amber survives his initiation in the Pattern, proving once and for all his blood relationship to the royal family. He celebrates by launching a debauched festival in the royal palace, which grows so rowdy that King Random orders it broken up. When the participants - including Laurent - react violently and guardsmen are injured and one is even killed, King Random orders them all thrown in the dungeons underneath Castle Amber to cool their heads. Laurent makes three attempts to break out of his cell before his brief sentence is up.
• 72 A.P.F.: Prince Gérard of Amber petitions his half-brother, King Random, to release his illegitimate son Laurent from the dungeons underneath Castle Amber. He promises to take his offspring with him on his next sea voyage with the royal fleet and teach him appropriate discipline. King Random grants Gérard's request, but makes it clear that this is Laurent's last and only chance.
• 73 A.P.F.: Laurent of Amber tries to start a mutiny on the navy ship where he serves under his father, Prince Gérard of Amber. The attempt fails, but Laurent manages to escape into the Golden Circle of Shadows allied to Amber, carrying an artefact he had stolen from Gérard's quarters: the Horn of the Home Harbour, an item capable of creating pathways through Shadow that enable and ease trade between realms.
• 108 A.P.F.: Laurent of Amber has established his own Shadow realm by invading an existing world and subjugating it to his will. Under his rule, Verteix has become a pit of horrors, devoted solely to the sating of his various whims and desires, in which Laurent rules as a god. As Verteix starts casting Shadows of its own, Laurent uses the Horn of the Home Harbour to establish Shadow pathways to them - and then conquer them as well, swelling both his stable of tormented slaves and his army of rabid brutes.
• 270 A.P.F.: Verteix, the multi-Shadow realm of Laurent of Amber, has become a diseased and corrupted mass in the fabric of Shadow, stitched together with ill-considered Shadow pathways created by the Horn of Home Harbour. Laurent continues to expand his reign, now into Shadows that are no longer reflections of his original private realm. With an army of depraved villains marching at his heel, commanded by his own Shadows, Laurent plans to move towards Amber and take the throne - and after that all of creation - for himself. The horde starts moving through Shadow, committing every crime known to man and some new ones Laurent invents on the go upon the Shadow denizens they come upon.
• 272 A.P.F.: The horde controlled by Laurent of Amber comes upon the Castle of Cards. The demons still contracted to Sare of Chaos manage to send an alert to both their master and the rest of House Bleykoven in the Courts of Chaos before they are overwhelmed. Some few are press-ganged into service in Laurent's horde; the rest suffer a fate too hideous to describe.
• 272 A.P.F.: Sare of Chaos contacts Arkura late of Amber with news of the horde slowly grinding its way towards Amber. Arkura reluctantly contacts her elder half-brother, Benedict of Amber, to warn him of the approaching threat.
• 273 A.P.F.: Laurent's horde breaches the defenses of Shadow Emeria, only to find that Prince Benedict of Amber has - with the grudging cooperation of Arkura late of Amber - fortified the whole world and set an ambush. The horde clashes with an army trained by Benedict and outfitted by the Kingdom of Amber.
• 275 A.P.F.: Laurent's horde manages to breach the defenses of Shadow Emeria through sheer numbers and savagery, forcing Benedict's forces to retreat. Arkura's fortress home comes under attack, and she shifts it to Shadow Ember.
• 275 A.P.F.: By command of King Merlin, relief forces from the Courts of Chaos come to the aid of Amber and start attacking Laurent's horde from the rear, attempting to sever supply lines and decimate camp followers. The horde grinds its way onward, Laurent simply opening up new pathways into fat, rich worlds as he approaches the Golden Circle of allied Shadows.
• 276 A.P.F.: A mixed force, consisting of Prince Benedict's remaining soldiers, demons contracted to House Bleykoven and Shadow denizens who have fled the approaching horde, have gathered in Princess Arkura's mobile fortress, now located at the border regions of Shadow Ember. Sare of Chaos has also travelled to the fortress, and spends a lot of time in conclave with Princess Arkura.
• 279 A.P.F.: Sare of Chaos and Arkura of Amber, working together with every Sorcerer they can get to cooperate, conduct a complex ritual meant to actually draw Laurent to Shadow Ember.
• 283 A.P.F.: Laurent's horde has nearly breached the edge of the Golden Circle of Shadows allied to Amber. Unknown to Laurent, the Horn of Home Harbour that he has been using to create a path for his troops and slaves to follow through Shadow has been subverted by the ritual performed in 279 A.P.F.: every time he creates a pathway through Shadow, it leads him closer to Shadow Ember.
• 284 A.P.F.: Laurent blows the Horn of Home Harbour one last time, and his horde encounters the border defenses of Shadow Ember - which have been reinforced and added to continuously over the past nine years. The Horn of Home Harbour, overtaxed by having to match first the defenses of Emeria and now Shadow Ember, shatters. With no quick way forward and the way back covered by forces out of Shadow, which have been quietly following for weeks and now begin the attack, Laurent can only move forward into Ember -which means he must overcome the border defenses without the aid of the Horn.
• 284 A.P.F.: With all manner of Sorcerous woe, horrifying demons, beasts and desperate soldiers out of Shadow falling upon the horde from both the front and back, the mass of villains is briefly stalled. In that moment, the horde comes under a flanking attack by the armies of Chaos on one side, and the gathered forces of Amber on the other. In the midst of the confusion, Laurent himself is attacked by a black unicorn and a blue unicorn, who manage to draw his blood after trampling through his elite guard. Beside himself with fury, Laurent charges after the two mystical beings and rides his horse right into a trap among the trees of Ember. Sare of Chaos and Arkura of Amber resume their natural forms and engage Laurent in battle.
• 284 A.P.F.: Arkura of Amber holds Laurent in place by engaging him in a psychic duel, while Sare of Chaos casts a spell to call down the destructive might of the Logrus and completely erase every trace and shadow of Laurent from creation. Arkura cannot release Laurent without risking his escape; Sare - already weary of his long, sad life - refuses to abandon another friend to die alone. Both Arkura and Sare remain in the spell's radius, and the curtain of Chaos falls upon them in full sight of the battling forces -- but unknown to all but the three principle actors, a cold, grey Mist gets there first, sweeping them away into the Demiplane of Dread.
• 285 A.P.F.: With Laurent's followers either dead, released from bondage, in captivity or on the run, the Courts of Chaos and Amber begin negotiations for a new treaty, one which includes mutual defense and all manner of cooperation.
• 285 A.P.F.: King Random reinstates Arkura's title as Princess of Amber and orders the restoration of her place in history. In a Shadow of Welkür, the cult of Arkura is once again openly practised.
• 285 A.P.F.: House Bleykoven in the Courts of Chaos holds a day of mourning for the perceived death of Sare. The House's elders are shamed when King Merlin unveils a statue honouring Sare for being instrumental in warning the Courts about the horde and his role in defeating Laurent, and adds his name to a list of national heroes.

Gothic Earth

• 1798 A.D.^[6]: Students at the University of Cambridge in England, having partaken of forbidden texts, found a qabal they name the Brightwell Coven. Desiring power through knowledge, they create a grimoire known as the Libre des Ombres Sécrètes, in which they record lore from various university libraries throughout Europe, as well as information which comes to light due to archaeological explorations. The qabal soon falls under the influence of the Red Death, but the members do not care: their motto is that Evil is 'not a burden to bear nor an enemy to fight, but a gift', reflecting their complete lack of morals and ethics in their pursuit of power, as well as their willingness to accept dubious gifts from vile sources.
• 1852 A.D.: The Brightwell Coven's headquarters in London come under assault by unidentified troops. The qabal's leadership sends a group of novices to Amsterdam with the Libre des Ombres Sécrètes as a decoy, only for the last elder to walk into a trap set in their Alexandria hideaway.
• 1962 A.D.: The being that shall come to be known as Mr. Black is born on Cuba. Despite being Evil to the core, it starts operating as a Renegade almost immediately.
• 1986 A.D.: The creature known as Mr. Black is caught in a deadly trap set by minions of the Red Death in Russia. Even though it manages to survive, it is cast into the Mists and barred from returning to Gothic Earth.
• 1998 A.D.: The woman who shall come to be known as Mu is born in the Netherlands.
• 2001 A.D.: The woman who shall come to be known as Slice is born in the state of Massachusetts in New England to a middle-class family. From early youth, she is troubled by grotesque visions; actually echoes of the Red Death's interference with Gothic Earth's Weave of Magic.
• 2008 A.D.: Young Mu is inducted into the Brightwell Coven in Amsterdam, which has divined her nascent skills as a linguist and code-breaker, as well as her magical potential. She decodes and translates a considerable amount of the Libre des Ombres Sécrètes before she realizes what she has been tampering with and flees the qabal.
• 2017 A.D.: Acting on a combination of visions shown to her by the Red Death and her own investigation, Slice kills an up-and-coming politician, for whom she had been working as a campaign staffer. She is promptly arrested and confined to the Maine Correctional Institute for Women. Amid huge media attention, Slice is tried in absentia, never receiving an opportunity to defend herself before the court.
• 2019 A.D.: Slice is convicted of murder and sentenced to execution by means of cyanide gas. The Mists fill the place of execution instead and whisk her away.
• 2028 A.D.: Witnessing a fire in the home base of the Brightwell Coven in Amsterdam, Mu unwisely plunges into the fire - either to save the old people who inducted her or to take the Libre des Ombres Sécrètes for herself. The fire's smoke transforms into the Mists, which steal her away.

• 963 IA^[7]: The Cataclysm^[8] strikes Krynn.
• 13 AC^[9]: Evanar first appears on Krynn. She wanders the devastation of the post-Cataclysm world, recording her findings in a new journal before she is pulled back to Toril.
• 93 AC: Evanar's second visit to Krynn. Hoping that the joint power of Solinari, Lunitari and Nuitari might suppress the silver fire of Mystra, she presents herself at the Tower of Wayreth and demands the right to take the Test of High Sorcery. She is allowed to, on the condition that she not throw the test, but give her best effort. To Evanar's appalled chagrin, she passes the Test and is inducted into the Order of the White Robes. She receives a gift - the Shawl of Truth - that at least allows her to shed the appearance 'gifted' to her by Mystra.
• 313 AC: Fraternal twins Arcael (girl) and Valael (boy) are born to an Elven family in the city of Qualinost.^[10]
• 333 AC: The young Elf Valael first starts showing symptoms of a recurring lung disease. His father, a minor Wizard of the White Robes, nevertheless forces him to study arcane magic instead of engaging in exercizes that might have improved his health. When Valael's twin sister Arcael asks to be taught as well, her father brusquely rebuffs her, claiming she lacks the right temperament.
• 337 AC: Wick is born on the continent of Ansalon to a married couple of mercenaries.
• 338 AC: Elven twins Arcael and Valael defy their father's wishes, with Arcael helping her brother to get exercize in the fresh air to improve his physical health, and Valael teaching his sister arcane magic from his own instruction books.
• 347 AC: Wick and his parents are travelling the continent, doing mercenary work to put food on the table, when they encounter a Wizard. The old man tests Wick on a whim, and announces that he has the talent to become a Wizard of High Sorcery - provided he receives the necessary education and applies himself. Wick's parents start saving up as much money as they can so they can put their son through wizard school. Although he always wished to become a swordsman like his parents, Wick studies to honour their wishes.
• 348 AC: Beginning of the War of the Lance^[11].
• 350 AC: (Spring) Wick's parents deliver their son to the Tower of Wayreth^[12] so he can continue his studies in relative safety. They leave to continue their own mercenary work.
• 352 AC: Arcael saves her family and several people from their home city from an enemy attack by skillful application of Enchantment and Illusion magic, turning their enemies against each other. Instead of congratulating her, Valael's father disowns her on the spot and denounces her as a Dark Elf^[13] for turning to magic that belongs to the Black and Red Robes. Arcael is banished from her community.
• 352 AC: The daughter of Traven, a human Wizard of the Red Robes, dies due to the ongoing war, and his wife commits suicide. Unnoticed by his friends and colleagues, Traven goes mad and resolves to bring back his family through magic.
• 353 AC: Official end of the War of the Lance.
• 354 AC: Dark Elf Arcael formally apprentices with Traven, human Wizard of the Red Robes. As he is unable to study or cast higher-level Necromancy spells, Traven deliberately nurtures Arcael's resentment towards her father and people, steering her towards the Order of the Black Robes.
• 360 AC: Wick passes the grueling Test of High Sorcery at the Tower of Wayreth and is inducted into the Order of the Red Robes. He receives the silver dagger Silverwolf as a graduation gift. His wish to go see his parents for the first time in over a decade is denied, as the Order wants him to stay at the Tower and conduct research into Conjuration magic, for which he has a knack.
• 367 AC: Arcael, now an Enchanter, passes the Test of High Sorcery and joins the Order of the Black Robes. For the first time in fifteen years, she reunites with her twin brother Valael at the Wizards' Conclave. Although Valael is now a White Robe, and in spite of their father's rage, the twins get along as well as ever. Arcael does note with some concern that her brother's health has deteriorated.
• 367 AC: Arcael and Traven step up their clandestine and blasphemous research into ways to transfer and create life through arcane magic, with Traven supplying Transmutation and Arcael Necromancy. The Elf wishes to save her brother, whereas Traven still wants to revive his wife and child.
• 368 AC: Wick encounters a member of the Black Robes, wearing a necklace that belonged to Wick's father. The Black Robe gleefully confesses to having murdered both of Wick's parents. In defiance of the laws of the Wizards of High Sorcery, Wick stabs the Black Robe to death, using the magical dagger Silverwolf. Rather than face the judgment of his fellow Wizards, he next uses a Conjuration spell he had been developing to flee to another world: Toril.
• 373 AC: Valael succumbs to his lung disease. His father hides the fact that he refused to get his child treatment, having expected him to overcome the frailties of the flesh through willpower. He gives a speech before the Conclave, praising his son and denouncing his daughter Arcael as a 'pointless existence' that stole his heir's health in the womb.
• 375 AC: Still grief-stricken over her brother's death, Arcael ends her private research with Traven and seemingly defects to the Knights of Takhisis^[14]. In truth, she wants to prove her father wrong by helping her fellow Wizards of High Sorcery destroy the Knights' Order of the Thorn as a double agent. Unfortunately for her, Arcael is not as accomplished at deception as she thinks she is; her ruse is seen through and she is fed disinformation, which she passes on to the Wizards of High Sorcery.
• 381 AC: The Orders of High Sorcery attack the Knights of Takhisis. Arcael is caught in the middle, with the Wizards of High Sorcery convinced she has betrayed them, and the Knights knowing she came to destroy them. Seeing no recourse, Arcael attacks everyone around her, finally conjuring a mist to cover her escape. When the fog clears, the Elf mage has been drawn into the Demiplane of Dread.
• 382 AC: Traven conducts his most ambitious experiment to date, believing he can make up for the loss of Arcael by reciting scrolls she left behind. The experiment fails disastrously, destroying the body of Traven's wife and most of his laboratory and notes. As Traven cries out for any power capable of granting him his heart's desire to do so, the Mists come for him.

Toril

• -339 DR^[15]: The Netherese^[16] archmage Karsus^[17] casts an epic-level spell that leads to the destruction of Netheril and the death of the first incarnation of Mystra.
• -338 DR: The second incarnation of Mystra prophesies a need for champions to meet future calamities. Her visions lead her to abduct a young human woman from an old and dying world. She renames the woman Evanar and appoints her as 'Mother of Champions', forcefully making her a Chosen and infusing her with silver fire so she may not die. When the woman tries to refuse and begs to be released to her home, Mystra showers her with 'gifts', including an inhumanly aesthetic appearance. None of these gifts manage to win Evanar's agreement or her cooperation, and she soon flees the care of Mystra's priesthood, seeking seclusion in the wilderness.
• -133 DR: Sare of Chaos 'discovers' Toril during his travels. Enchanted by both its scenes of natural beauty and desolation, he starts travelling the world to paint its scenery.
• -100 DR: Sare of Chaos encounters Evanar in the forest where she has secluded herself. Sare feels a strong physical attraction to Mystra's Mother of Champions, but out of romantic inexperience and social awkwardness resolves to befriend Evanar, rather than pressing any sort of suit.
• -63 DR: Evanar and Sare of Chaos have become as close a pair of friends as their natures will allow. They try studying each other's styles of magic, without much success. Sare offers to show Evanar other worlds, which she accepts; the two of them go walking in Shadow under Sare's power.
• 000 DR: Evanar and Sare of Chaos start working on a way to break Mystra's Tether, a curse that forces Evanar to return to Toril no matter how far she travels.
• 000 DR: Mystra, goddess of magic, lodges a complaint with the Serpent of Chaos, in whose faith Sare of Chaos was raised. The Serpent refuses to chastize Sare for interfering with the will of Mystra, but tells her she is free to take her own steps against him.
• 13 DR: Sare of Chaos and Evanar think they have worked out the mechanics of a method to undo Mystra's Tether, the curse forcing Evanar to return to Toril, as well as purge her of the silver fire that has rendered her effectively immortal. Sare believes Evanar may need a higher-level initiation in order to channel the energies required, as neither one of them can conduct the ritual alone. Although he is saddened by the thought that he is working to help his only friend die, Sare offers to find an appropriate initiation out in Shadow while Evanar makes preparations on Toril. Barely has Sare left Toril before Mystra places a subtle curse on him, which will prevent him from finding whatever world Evanar is in.
• 90 DR: After 77 years of trying to contact Sare of Chaos with no success, Evanar is convinced he is either dead or unable to return, and loses all hope of ever seeing her friend again or executing the ritual they designed together. She departs Toril for Krynn and the Test of High Sorcery, hoping that Solinari, Lunitari and Nuitari might free her instead.
• 241 DR: While Mystra's attention is partially diverted by her new favourite Elminster, the Succubus Slap approaches Evanar in her seclusion and offers her the power and freedom of the Abyss in return for turning her considerable power to the cause of Evil. Evanar considers the offers for less than five seconds before telling the demonic temptress that if she were willing to vent her anger and sorrow on innocents, she would have been razing Toril for a long time now. She effortlessly banishes the fiend from her presence and back to the Abyss.
• 1321 DR: Wick appears on Toril after his mad flight from Krynn, by ways of the Demiplane of Time^[18] due to flaws in his Conjuration spell. Unaware that his brief brush with the Demiplane has catapulted him backward in time relative to Krynn, the Wizard of High Sorcery establishes himself in Beregost^[19].
• 1330 DR: Wick completes construction of his home in Beregost, the House of the Red Moon. He invites his lover, the swordsman Chadrezzan Ilmiskir, to live in the house with him.
• 1340 DR: Chadrezzan Ilmiskir, disappointed by the way Wick spends little time with him in the House of the Red Moon, being more occupied with travelling and learning - and how he treats him more as a sparring partner than a lover when he is home - leaves to continue on his own training journey.
• 1350 DR: Wick receives an invitation from the Simbul^[20] to come to Aglarond^[21]. When he does, the Simbul communicates an offer from Mystra to become one of her Chosen^[22] and devote himself to magic forever. Wick grows both panicked and enraged, curses Mystra for what he perceives as an attempt to take his freedom to study both arcane magic and the sword as he chooses, and again casts his flawed Conjuration spell to escape from Toril.
• 1358 DR: The Time of Troubles^[23] strikes Toril.
• 1359 DR: Chadrezzan Ilmiskir, crippled during the Time of Troubles, returns to the House of the Red Moon to make sure Wick is alright. He finds the House abandoned. As he is unable to continue as a swordsman, he cleans up the House and starts studying Wick's abandoned library in an effort to find his former lover.
• 1360 DR: Evanar petitions the latest incarnation of Mystra to release her so she may finally die. The Lady of Mysteries, having learned of the prophecies of her predecessor, regretfully declines. She offers Evanar succor, but the Mother of Champions rejects the offer and returns to her isolation.
• 1362 DR: Chadrezzan Ilmiskir tries to cast a self-designed spell, a combination of Wick's Conjuration and a Divination, in an effort to find his former lover. The spell proves to be too much for the self-taught wizard and he dies of a heart attack mid-casting. The spell goes haywire and drags the House of the Red Moon to the Demiplane of Dread.
• 1371 DR: Rock Gnome Bard and Harper[1] Agent[2] Colmarr Greatorm is sent to gladden the heart of Evanar, unwilling Mother of Champions for Mystra. Instead, having learned of Evanar's past and her anguish, he flees her home in horror and abandons the mission.
• 1372 DR: Colmarr Greatorm founds the Sevenstrings due to having learned of the many-worlds interpretation[3] from Evanar during his stay with her; he wishes to end all conflict on Toril by allowing every faction to gain access to a world of its own. He gathers followers from many species without any regard to alignment and petitions several gods for support. The group begins research into the creation of a technomagical portal as prototype.
• 1372 DR: The Devoratrix who will become known as the Red Haunt is dispatched to test the loyalty of Mulan Red Wizard and Shadow Adept Girin. Surprisingly, the two villains grow close emotionally and romantically, even as they plumb the depths of the Shadow Weave together.
• 1374 DR: Girin and her Devoratrix companion (who will one day become the Red Haunt) decide to flee Toril in hopes of freeing themselves from Shar. They are attacked on the Plane of Shadow, and Girin suffers mortal wounds. The two villains channel Girin's soul into a magic ring in hopes of restoring her to life later, but the Devoratrix is caught by the Mists before she can leave the Plane of Shadows.
• 1377 DR: The Harpers[4] and Moonstars[5] become aware of the Sevenstrings' activities, but wildly misinterpret these, believing them to be a debased cult that wishes to open a gateway to an as-yet unknown layer of the Lower Planes. A joint taskforce attacks the Sevenstrings' base, the 'factory'. The weaker members of the Sevenstrings are slaughtered, the stronger are apparently vaporized when an errant spell causes their prototype portal to explode.
• 1385 DR: The Spellplague^[24] strikes Toril in the wake of an assassination attempt upon the third incarnation of Mystra.

The Demiplane of Dread

5th Century

• 459 BC: Vampyre Daniel Spicui, who has rejected a hunter's lifestyle in favour of enslaving vulnerable girls, rejects the chance to earn his family's forgiveness and purify himself of his sins, and has them murdered by his charmed slaves. He is drawn into the Mists and the wretched domain of Lack-Light forms around him as an Island of Terror.
• 468 BC: The unnatural domain of Abussos takes form around brutal warlord and slaver Laurent of Amber.

6th Century

• 543 BC: Arkura, Queen of the kingdom of Ember in the domain of Abussos, tries to abdicate the throne in favour of her elder half-brother Benedict. Benedict politely but firmly refuses, citing his duty as head of the armies of Ember.
• 581 BC: The Devoratrix that will come to be known as the Red Haunt arrives in Darkon and curses herself to prevent her memory from being overwritten. She loses all memories of her past and sets off to fill the void in her memory with knowledge. She develops multiple personalities over time due to the wording of her curse.
• 582 BC: The undead warmonger and deluded visionary Tressac arrives in Arak.
• 583 BC: (Spring) Mordentish aristocrat Robert Gauldamon and his fraternal twin sister Roberta Gauldamon have a falling-out due to his superior skill as a singer. Unknown to Robert, his sister joins a demonic cult to gain what she desires.
• 583 BC: (Summer) The Lhiannan shee Lisette thrice seduces, drains, and almost kills Robert Gauldamon in Mordent. A band of mercenaries barely manages to save his life after she claws him in the throat, destroying his beautiful singing voice.
• 584 BC: Robert Gauldamon witnesses his fraternal twin sister Roberta Gauldamon and the Lhiannan shee Lisette worship a Fiend in the woods of Mordent. He learns his sister sicced Lisette on him, and the Fiend has been transferring Robert's drained singing prowess to her. Robert goes mad and runs into the Mists.
• 585 BC: The Red Haunt finds Robert Gauldamon lost in the Mists. Intrigued, she takes him in and nurtures his madness and hate. When Robert leaves, he is a transformed man, ready to sow terror by the creation of cursed musical instruments.
• 587 BC: Ciphramir and Federlin depart Arak. Charissa Schlosser (a persona of the Red Haunt) accosts them on the road, scarring Federlin before being repelled by Ciphramir. This will be the start of a long-standing feud between the Devoratrix and the Rakshasa.
• 588 BC: The Scourge of Arak wipes the domain of Arak clean of all surface life, extinguishing the Arakians.
• 593 BC: Boyce Vinctus, an aristocratic student at the University of Il Aluk, is shamed by his classmate Imogen Schlosser (a persona of the Red Haunt), and exposed as a thief. He flees into the Boglands and studies arcane magic under the tutelage of fell beings, eventually becoming partially undead.

7th Century

• 607 BC: Mr. Black arrives in L'Morai. Injured and hungry, he murders and replaces a town crier, allowing him to slowly recover while feeding on the domain's atmosphere of terror and sadism.
• 613 BC: The insane vampire Camille Churnstone murders her last remaining living relatives. She becomes Darklady of the new domain Lilliend. At some point during her reign, she develops the spell Artificial Hibernation and starts forcing her spawn into prolonged sleep, allowing her to keep turning victims without losing control over preceding slaves.
• 622 BC The Red Haunt meets Tressac in Forlorn. The two villains lay the groundwork for the foundation of the Scions of Irul.
• 626 BC: First assembly of the Scions of Irul.
• 633 BC: Finally recovered from his injuries, Mr. Black departs L'Morai, simply walking into the domain's border Mists to find his way home to Gothic Earth.
• 644 BC: The Krinnish Dark Elf Arcael appears in Keening. She flees north into Darkon, where she settles in Nevuchar Springs and succumbs to the Claiming. She joins the Nevuchar Springs city guard to pay the bills.
• 648 BC: The Red Haunt finds the Kalidnay grimoire in an abandoned house in the slums of Artan-Ak.
• 654 BC: Arcael quits the Nevuchar Springs city guard and moves to Il Aluk, where she starts attending the University. She specializes in magic, medicine and history.
• 660 BC: Arcael finishes her doctorate degrees at the University of Il Aluk. She commences postdoctoral studies in history.
• 664 BC: Arcael attains the title of professor of history. She leaves Il Aluk and moves to the shore of Stagnus Lake in the Boglands, to work as a lecturer at the Brautslava Institute.
• 669 BC: Daniel Spicui finally masters enough arcane magic to permanently cloud the skies of Lack-Light, either not anticipating or not caring that this will damage his domain's ecology and negatively impact the human population, as he is finally able to go out by day again.
• 682 BC: The Succubus Slap emerges from a portal to the Abyss in Darkon. As she is grievously wounded, she retreats to the Mountains of Misery and spends several years recuperating while mostly avoiding the locals.
• 682 BC: Arcael ends her teaching career at the Brautslava Institute and returns to Il Aluk to commence postdoctoral studies in magic.
• 684 BC: Conquista takes form in the Mists.
• 688 BC: Arcael attains the title of professor of magic. She rejects an offer from the Brautslava Institute to return and teach, choosing instead to return to Nevuchar Springs and work as a private tutor for what she believes are her own people. She starts submitting articles to the periodicals of Darkon, unwittingly sharing theories she first helped to develop on Krynn when she was studying under her old master Traven.
• 691 BC: The Devoratrix known as the Red Haunt meets the Succubus Slap in the Mountains of Misery in Darkon. They have a surprisingly civil conversation, with the Devoratrix explaining some things about the Demiplane of Dread and Power Rituals to the Succubus, and extending an invitation to work together sometime. Slap resolves to avoid the Red Haunt, but starts preparing for a Power Ritual to reduce her chances of ever returning to the Abyss.
• 693 BC: Boyce Vinctus confronts Katia Schlosser, a persona of the Red Haunt, at her hospital in Leidenheim. The Devoratrix overpowers him and transplants his undead brain into the skull of a bull seal.
• 693 BC: The Red Haunt gives birth to Succubus Clementine Schlosser. Mother and daughter get along very well, with persona Charissa Schlosser teaching the young demon the ways of seduction and murder.
• 693 BC: The Succubus Slap descends to the Boglands of Darkon to perform a Power Ritual. While the ritual is successful, Kargat agents start tracking her. Slap flees across the border to Tepest.
• 694 BC: The Krinnish Red-Robed Wizard Traven appears in Martira Bay in Darkon. Even after he succumbs to the Claiming, he continues to conduct research into magical ways of transferring, manipulating and creating life, using the dead body of his daughter as a test subject.
• 694 BC: The Succubus Slap assumes a human guise in order to seduce a Tepestani Ranger. Instead of draining the man, she becomes his apprentice, feeling the need to strengthen herself. The two of them soon become infamous bandits, slaughtering humans and goblins alike.

8th Century

• 7?? BC: A Zherisian Cleric of the Divinity of Mankind, Simon Keysmith, barely survives an attack by a dread doppelganger. His life is saved by a Caliban where his fellow humans are content to let him die, and Simon has an epiphany which causes him to found the Divinity in All.
• 7?? BC: Zherisian dread doppelganger Cleric of the Divinity of the Masters Paloma falls into despair when she sees her adoptive human parents mourn for the loss of the child she used to be. She is abducted by the Red Haunt, but saved by Victor Gagné. During the course of their escape from the demon's lair, Paloma realizes she has turned to the Divinity in All. After Paloma is separated from Victor, she comes to meet Simon Keysmith.
• 702 BC: The House of the Red Moon appears in the Ulvskoven of Kartakass. A band of adventurers stumbles upon the house and destroys the animated corpse of Chadrezzan Ilmiskir, mistakenly congratulating themselves on the slaying of a lich. When they try to loot and burn the House, a combination of wards left behind by both Chadrezzan and Wick activates, slaying them.
• 704 BC: The Succubus Slap performs a Power Ritual in Tepest. In retaliation, the Three Hags devour Slap's Ranger teacher and lover, making it clear that her options are obedience, departure or death. Slap flees Tepest and settles in the House of the Sages in Richemulot, occasionally hunting animals and people if they draw too close to her lair.
• 707 BC: Having noticed unusual longevity in some people, the Wizard Traven stalks, abducts and murders several Kargatane. Through alchemy, he distills an Elixir of Longevity from their blood to enable him to continue his studies. Miraculously, imbibing the potion does not automatically place him under Kargat control. He unwittingly fails a Powers Check.
• 709 BC: Dementlieuse scholars Albert de Mauvais and Giles de Mauvais purchase the still-living body of the victim of a Red Widow attack. Albert oversees the hatching of the eggs lodged inside the body, only to subject the hatchlings to cruel experiments.
• 713 BC: Succubus Clementine Schlosser enters the University of Dementlieu as a student at her mother's recommendation.
• 714 BC: The Succubus Slap grows bored with the wilderness and assumes a new human guise. She opens a brothel in Pont-a-Museau with money she looted from her victims, allowing her to make a profit and feed shallowly.
• 714 BC: (Winter) Tressac chances upon the House of the Red Moon in the Ulvskoven in Kartakass. Suffering from a dark mood, he adds the Study to the House and spends the winter there, writing a surprisingly honest memoir of all his crimes, mistakes and thwarted dreams in a private journal. He hides the book inside the House when spring comes.
• 714 BC: One of the surviving Red Widows being held in the laboratory of Albert de Mauvais demonstrates a natural talent for arcane spells. When Albert states his intention to dissect the creature's brain, his brother Giles de Mauvais knocks him unconscious and absconds with the creature, which he names Richelle.
• 715 BC: Julio Huevo is born in Karina in Invidia. From a young age, he demonstrates a voracious intellect and a love of the arts, especially painting and the violin.
• 715 BC: Arcael and Traven become aware of each other because articles they have submitted to the arcane periodicals of Darkon have a great deal in common. Unaware of their shared past on Krynn, the two Evil spellcasters start working together again.
• 716 BC: The Succubus Slap, having grown overconfident once again, performs a Power Ritual in her brothel in Pont-a-Museau, Richemulot. Claude Renier causes rats, dire rats and wererats to surge up from the sewers beneath the building. Slap flees, the only survivor of the massacre and heavily wounded. She eventually crashes in Levkarest in Borca, where she goes to ground.
• 716 BC: Giles de Mauvais takes up a teaching position at the University in Kantora in Nova Vaasa. The Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais, posing as his daughter, enrolls as a student.
• 719 BC: Giles de Mauvais suffers a heart attack in a brothel in Kantora and dies. Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais, his adopted daughter, is his sole heiress.
• 720 BC: Aleister Smythe is born in Dementlieu. He is the son of a family strongly involved with the Fraternity of Shadows.
• 720 BC: (Winter) Tressac returns to the House of the Red Moon and places additional wards on the journal he left behind, so it will be less likely to be found. He writes a new memoir during the winter, this one full of his usual bluster, zeal and lies. Tressac takes this second journal with him when spring comes.
• 721 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais discovers her adopted father Giles de Mauvais' heart attack was brought on by a jealous co-worker poisoning him. She kills Giles' murderer out of an unusual sense of loyalty and gratitude.
• 722 BC: In Levkarest, the Succubus Slap meets Mordentish artist and musician Robert Gauldamon, who is plying his own brand of Evil in Borca. She takes on the persona of his mistress, creating the fiction of a highly-skilled courtesan who was scarred by a jealous customer. This gives Robert a thin veneer of normalcy and allows Slap to keep out of the public eye and to continue healing.
• 722 BC: Arcael and Traven decide to leave for Souragne in order to partake of local lore on Necromancy. As soon as they leave Darkon their memories return, and they come to blows. Arcael flees the battle when the odds turn against her, and Traven arrives in Souragne alone.
• 722 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais graduates summa cum laude from the University in Kantora. With nearly half her expected lifespan spent, a fear of death grips her and she decides to research ways to extend her life.
• 723 BC: Succubus Clementine Schlosser graduates from the University of Dementlieu with full honours.
• 723 BC: The Dark Elf Arcael settles down in northern Nova Vaasa; she uses arcane magic to raise a tower from the earth to serve as her new home.
• 724 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais enrolls in the University of Dementlieu to pursue postdoctoral studies and advance her research into her own biology. She starts trapping and vivisecting other Red Widows to aid her research and fails a Powers Check. • 729 BC: Robert Gauldamon and the Succubus Slap have a falling-out when she discovers he has been using her knowledge and hair to create his newest range of cursed violins. Finding Robert to be too well-protected to kill, Slap performs a Power Ritual in the town house in Levkarest they have been sharing, expecting Ivana Boritsi's wrath to fall on Robert. The Succubus flees to Nova Vaasa. Robert flees for parts unknown.
• 730 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais is ejected from the University of Dementlieu due to outcry over her experiments in biology.
• 731 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais joins la Société de Legerdemain to make ends meet, and discovers to her surprise that she enjoys and has a knack for stage magic.
• 732 BC: Diedrich von Hochstatt is born in Leidenheim, Lamordia, to an aristocratic bloodline. His father is a member of both the Schultebott of Leidenheim and the Syndicate of Enlightened Citizens.
• 733 BC: Julio Huevo enrolls at the Karina College d'Art.
• 733 BC: In order to relieve a sense of ennui - and perhaps influenced by her meeting with the Red Haunt in 691 BC - the Succubus Slap starts attending classes in history, philosophy and religion at the University in Kantora.
• 734 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais founds a traveling company of entertainers she names Théàtre d'Atroce. While the company provides genuine entertainment, it is also a cover to smuggle foreign spies into and out of Dementlieu. Borca pays the Red Widow with doses of Vital Venom for her services.
• 735 BC: Traven petitions Anton Misroi for permission to cast the spells he has designed to restore his daughter to life. The Darklord refuses, but allows Traven to leave Souragne unmolested. Traven returns to the Core and settles down in an abandonedkeep in Lamordia.
• 736 BC: Julio Huevo graduates from the College d'Art, having skipped a full year. He enrolls in the University of Dementlieu later that same year.
• 736 BC: Dominic D'Honaire subtly blacklists the Théàtre d'Atroce, cutting it off from noble sponsorship and customers. Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais starts taking the company on tours in the rest of the Core.
• 736 BC: The mad Wizard Traven purchases the homunculus Belzamour from the Devoratrix Katia Schlosser to serve as his familiar. Unknown to Traven, Katia has given the construct several upgraded abilities to increase his grief and madness.
• 737 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais discovers the longevity of the Kargatane. She stages a spectacular performance of Théàtre d'Atroce in Martira Bay, including a 'disappearing act' that serves as cover for her abduction and torturous murder of over a dozen people to create an Elixir of Longevity. Richelle fails a second Powers Check, and is forced to hustle her company out of Martira Bay when both Alanik Ray and local Kargat investigate the disappearances - but her ageing process has been temporarily halted and even partially reversed, leaving her physicallly 17 years old. Unknown to Richelle, Azalin Rex is aware of - and mildly amused by - her antics.
• 738 BC: Aleister Smythe is inducted into the Fraternity of Shadows.
• 738 BC: At Meredoth's command, Lebendtod 'sleeper agents' present themselves at Imogen Schlosser's tower with an offer of service. The persona of the Red Haunt sees through their deceit and disassembles them as part of her research.
• 739 BC: A second group of Lebendtod 'sleeper agents' approaches Imogen Schlosser. The Red Haunt investigates Meredoth and is disgusted by what she discovers, resolving to make him suffer.
• 739 BC: The Lhiannan shee Lisette starts to seduce and drain a musician travelling with the Théàtre d'Atroce in Darkon, and comes to blows with Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais, who as owner of the Théàtre does not suffer outsiders preying on her employees. Lisette is driven to flight before she can finish draining her latest victim.
• 740 BC: The Grand Conjunction rocks the Core.
• 740 BC: Various previously obscure domains, including Conquista and Lilliend], assemble into the Wartorn Cluster in the Mists.
• 740 BC: The Devoratrix Roe arrives in Ghastria. She moves to the Core.
• 740 BC: Tressac seizes control of the Scions of Irul.
• 741 BC: The Succubus Slap converts to the faith of Mytteri in Nova Vaasa.
• 741 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais accepts an appointment to start ferrying Kargat agents around the Core under cover of the Théàtre d'Atroce from Azalin Rex in return for rejuvenation with the aid of the lich's Drain Vitality-spell.
• 742 BC: Lebendtod 'sleeper agents' approach Traven in Lamordia. The mad Wizard does not even listen to their false offer of fealty before he starts stripping them down for parts. Caught unaware by the parts' ability to fight independently, Traven almost dies - but not quite.
• 743 BC: Traven has converted a number of Lamordian peasants into Goblyns to guard his keep.
• 744 BC: Caliban Ooglie is born in Darkon. His parents abandon him at an orphanage.
• 744 BC: A Lebendtod 'sleeper agent' approaches Arcael in Nova vaasa, but leaves upon learning she is an Enchanter, knowing its master Meredoth's disdain for that school of magic.
• 745 BC: The last surviving Sevenstrings - including Colmarr Greatorm - arrive on the Lamordian shore of the Sea of Sorrows, following the attack on their headquarters on Toril that lead to the malfunction and destruction of their portal. Before the portal exploded, it accidentally connected to, and dragged its creators into, the Demiplane of Dread. Over the following years, the Sevenstrings will start gathering magical and scientific lore around the Core, and establish a new base under one of the abandoned Lamordian temples. Here they begin construction on a new portal. Their intention is to eventually use the Demiplane of Dread as a hub for planar and interdimensional travel. They start to recruit new members, preferring fellow Outlanders, but also pick up the occasional native.
• 746 BC: Julio Huevo graduates summa cum laude from the University of Dementlieu. Later this same year, he moves to Lamordia for advanced education in the formal and natural sciences.
• 746 BC: Mr. Black kills and replaces a minor nobleman of Nosos. Before the end of the year, he murders his victim's entire household and replaces them with his own shapeshifting minions, allowing him to use his initial target's home and businesses indefinitely. Among other things, he sets up a breeding facility for fleas of madness.
• 747 BC: Out of boredom and curiosity, the Succubus Slap spends a year at the Clinic for the Mentally Distressed in Egertus, disguised as an employee. She learns basic aspects of alienism and psychology before leaving - curiously having done no harm to anyone during her stay.
• 748 BC: The Clinic for the Mentally Distressed in Egertus, Nova Vaasa, and its staff and patients are drawn into the Nightmare Lands.
• 748 BC: The Wizard Traven attempts a ritual to restore his daughter to life in Lamordia. As Traven has been abducting people for months to drain their lifeforce and strip their bodies down for parts, his ritual is interrupted by adventurers who believe him to be a vampire. Traven survives the battle, but comes to believe his daughter's soul has been reborn somewhere in the Land of Mists. By this time, Traven has failed three Powers Checks.
• 748 BC: Giomorgo Comoară is born in Barovia to a Vistana cast out of her tribe due to a power struggle and a local peddler. She grows up dreaming of adventure and heroism, much to her parents' distress.
• 748 BC: Everline Vaughn is born in the countryside of Mordent to a newly-widowed woman. Her mother soon turns to theft to provide for the both of them.
• 749 BC: By this year, both the Kargat and Meredoth's Lebendtod have an agent among the Sevenstrings and are monitoring the group's progress on behalf of their respective masters.
• 750 BC: The Requiem strikes Darkon and Azalin Rex disappears.
• 750 BC: Rudolph van Richten disappears in Richten Haus.
• 750 BC: The witch who will come to be known as Mu arrives in Barovia from Gothic Earth. She is badly traumatised in a local asylum before she manages to escape. She fails a Powers Check and enters the Path of the Concubine.
• 750 BC: Diedrich von Hochstatt encounters Colmarr Greatorm in his favourite bookshop, and is eventually inducted into the Sevenstrings.
• 750 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais abandons the Kargat and takes her Théàtre d'Atroce out of Darkon for good. At this point, she is physically 20 years old.
• 751 BC: The Red Haunt and Aleister Smythe co-found the Centurions of the Night during a special meeting of the surviving Scions of Irul who opposed Tressac in Cortton.
• 751 BC: The Red Haunt strikes down Tressac, who appears to die, but is actually trapped as Darklord of his own domain.
• 751 BC: Clementine Schlosser becomes a Centurion of the Night and takes up a position as spy and recruiter in Paridon.
• 751 BC: Unable to locate the recipient of his daughter's soul, Traven starts corresponding with his former apprentice-now-enemy Arcael, pleading with her to use her superior powers of Divination on his behalf. In order to rid herself of Traven, Arcael complies - but all she can see is that Traven should seek 'a girl mantled in theft and power'. She informs Traven that a Vistani raunie might be able to refine her vision.
• 75? BC: The Devoratrix Roe, wishing to establish dominance over the Red Haunt, enslaves an agent of the Centurions of the Night and earns their wrath. Permanently scarred in battle with Mr. Black and afraid for her life, she eventually returns to Ghastria and resolves to grow stronger.
• 752 BC: The Hour of Screaming Shadows takes place in Sithicus. Lord Soth disappears.
• 752 BC: Julio Huevo completes his studies in Lamordia and returns to Karina in Invidia, planning to bring about a scientific revolution of his homeland. His ambitions are met with a mixture of apathy and confusion, and Julio is forced to start a simple doctor's practice and proof the articles of more well-known scientists in order to feed himself. He sinks into quiet despair.
• 752 BC: (Spring) Diedrich von Hochstatt makes the acquaintance of the scholar Mu while she is trying to find sponsors for her research into planar travel in Leidenheim, and falls head over heels in love with her. He is hesitant to express his affections and tries to find a way to earn her love in turn.
• 752 BC: (Late autumn) Diedrich von Hochstatt tries to persuade the Schultebott of Leidenheim to sponsor Mu's research. As the organisation is firmly in the grasp of the Syndicate of Enlightened Citizens, they instead destroy Mu's notes and molest her before handing her over to a brothel. Diedrich saves Mu with the unexpected aid of Amourette Schlosser (a persona of the Red Haunt), and they take Mu to Schloss von Brandthofen to treat her injuries.
• 752 BC: (Midwinter) Amourette Schlosser (a persona of the Red Haunt), Mu, Diedrich von Hochstatt and Victor Mordenheim join together at Schloss von Brandthofen to work together on a technomagical project that should prove the validity of Mu's research.
• 753 BC: (Spring solstice) The qabal gathered at Schloss von Brandthofen completes and activates the World Engine, but they come to blows and go their separate ways. Mu fails another Powers Check. The World Engine does something, but no one knows what.
• 753 BC: The Sevenstrings find Mu's incomplete notes on the World Engine at Schloss von Brandthofen and incorporate them into their own portal design. They also find Diedrich von Hochstatt, barely clinging to life after his fall from the castle's battlements, and take him back to their base to hook him up to a life-support system.
• 753 BC: Outraged after the apparent death of his son, Diedrich von Hochstatt's father becomes even more rabid in his hatred of the supernatural. He joins the Cornerstone Foundation, hoping to use their funding to create actual death-squads. Neither the Syndicate of Enlightened Citizens nor the Cornerstone Foundation is charmed by his frenzied fervor.
• 754 BC: (Summer) Mu commits murder in Hazlan. She fails a third Powers Check.
• 754 BC: The Red Haunt uses the World Engine to create the Retreat, and installs the machine as its control core. The Fiend moves her most treasured possessions and research into her new lair.
• 754 BC: (Summer) After three years, Traven has located a Vistani raunie willing and able to refine Arcael's vision and tell him who now carries his daughter's soul. When he arrives at the agreed meeting-place, raunie Mariuschka is freshly dead. Her people tell Traven she was murdered by a red-haired Succubus she had been training as a servant, and that the Fiend 'had partaken of her knowledge'. Traven resolves to hunt down the creature and wring its memory dry.
• 754 BC: (Autumn) The House of the Red Moon relocates from its location in former Arkandale to Mourning Ridge in southern Verbrek.
• 754 BC: (Winter) Mu stumbles on the House of the Red Moon in Mourning Ridge, Verbrek, and takes it over. She adds her own spells to the House's defenses, and creates the Laboratory in the cellars beneath the House as her own crafting-area. She studies the House's Library of lore from both Toril and Krynn and adds her own arcane and scientific knowledge drawn from Gothic Earth and the Demiplane of Dread to it.
• 755 BC: (Summer) Azalin Rex returns to the throne of Darkon.
• 755 BC: Mu clashes with an opponent known only as the Mystery Benefactor in Richemulot over the Libre des Ombres Sécrètes. Mu loses the book when she opts to save a life, rather than claim the tome for herself. Perhaps tellingly, she does not fail another Powers Check.
• 755 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais starts corresponding with Azalin Rex, offering to resume their previous arrangement, using her Théàtre d'Atroce to ferry around Kargat agents. The lich king rejects her offer, but refrains from punishing her for her departure without leave - apart from forbidding her from ever returning to Darkon and thus denying her further rejuvenation.
• 756 BC: Caliban Ooglie is kicked out of the orphanage. He starts working as first a day labourer and later a mercenary. He falls in love with the art of fencing and commissions the creation of the rapier Lancet; this wipes out what few savings he had to his name.
• 759 BC: Traven locates and attacks the Succubus Slap in Gundarak and takes her back to his home in Lamordia for questioning. The mad Wizard tortures the Fiend for weeks to ascertain she is not the killer of raunie Mariushka, then wrings knowledge of every Succubus and similar entity she knows from her mind before abandoning her in his dungeon.
• 760 BC: Agents of the mysterious spellcaster who will come to be known as Ciska's Master find the Kalidnay grimoire in an abandoned house in Artan-Ak - just like the Red Haunt did in 648 BC...
• 760 BC: The Succubus Slap escapes from the dungeon of the insane Wizard Traven by enlisting the aid of local rats.
• 760 BC: Red Widow Richelle de Mauvais, approaching the end of her extended lifespan and feeling quite elderly, sells her Théàtre d'Atroce to a coalition of her employees and settles down in Chateaufaux. She starts compiling her accumulated knowledge of arcane magic in a series of scrolls. Rather than a legacy, the scrolls are bait in a trap, meant to draw in other spellcasters. Richelle hopes to learn further ways of extending her lifespan from anyone foolish enough to seek her out.
• 764 BC: (Spring) Barovian Giomorgo Comoară robs the tax-gatherers of Strahd von Zarovich and tries to give the money they gathered back to the people. The Barovian peasants betray her to spare themselves from Strahd's wrath, and Comoară's family is forced to flee. Separated from her parents, Comoară meets the Outlanders Slice and Wick (respectively from Gothic Earth and Krynn) as they appear from the Mists, and they fight off the tax-gatherers together. Comoară manages to cajole the two Outlanders into joining her in a new adventurer party: the Chibiloft Crew.
• 764 BC: (Spring) Slice unwittingly snaps a branch from an oak tree once sacred to the faith of Andral to create the quarterstaff Twist.
• 764 BC: (Spring) Discovering that Silverwolf has shattered in the sheath, Wick obtains an amount of black mithral and blends it with the dagger's magical silver. From the resulting alloy, he forges the longsword Leadenwolf. The spirit of Silverwolf is alive within the sword and gives up completely on Wick. Wick fails his first Powers Check.
• 764 BC: (Spring) The House of the Red Moon disappears from Mourning Ridge, Verbrek, only to reappear in the Ziyden Woods in what used to be Dorvinia and is now Borca.
• 764 BC: (Autumn) Slice and Wick meet and hire the Darkonese Caliban Ooglie while hunting vampires in Barovia. Afterwards, the young Caliban asks to join them long-term; Ooglie is inducted into the Chibiloft Crew.
• 765 BC: A mysterious individual who will come to be known as Ciska's Master has made enemies of both King Azalin and the Fraternity of Shadows. Kargat agents set his home in Port-a-Lucine on fire. Ciska saves his life - barely.
• 765 BC: Under the effect of magical compulsions laid on her by her Master, Ciska follows instructions laid out in the Kalidnay grimoire and travels to the Wartorn Cluster. Her mission is to survey its lands with an eye to conquest.
• 765 BC: (Summer) Heroes of Chibiloft Comoară and Wick rescue one of Daniel Spicui's intended victims. When the Darklord closes the borders of his domain of Lack-Light on them and darkness begins to fall, the two Heroes turn to the Succubus Slap for help. The demoness helps them to escape, but claims a spot on the Chibiloft Crew in payment. The Heroes grudgingly accept.
• 765 BC: (Autumn) Aubert encounters the Heroes of Chibiloft Wick and Slap in Sithicus, and hires on with them for a job. Aubert and Wick become romantically attracted to each other, and Wick invites Aubert to join the 'Crew.
• 765 BC: (Winter) The Chibiloft Crew accepts a contract to track down and neutralize a murderous doppelganger. The trail leads them to Karina in Invidia, where they enlist the aid of local scientist and alchemist Dr. Julio Huevo. The Doctor soon proves enthusiastic for the work. After Dr. Huevo's medical practice explodes due to a battle with the doppelganger, the Chibiloft Crew and Dr. Huevo are chased out of Karina by the town guard. The scientist half-bullies the 'Crew into letting him join as 'scientific consultant'. He soon proves himself a valuable asset.
• 766 BC: (Summer) Arcael torments a village in Nova Vaasa near her tower home. The Heroes of Chibiloft Comoară, Slice and Ooglie manage to severely wound but not kill her; Arcael flees for parts unknown.
• 766 BC (Autumn): The Chibiloft Crew stumbles across the House of the Red Moon in Ziyden Woods in former Dorvinia. The group manages to acquire the deed to the derelict building from Ivan Dilisnya and moves in. Wick learns of the efforts of his former lover, Chadrezzan Ilmiskir, to find him - but not of his death. He manages to unravel the mysterious effect that causes the House to relocate, ending its travels.
• 766 BC: (Winter) Ciska battles Camille Churnstone in Lilliend, and manages to survive her defeat.
• 766 BC (Winter): Julio Huevo starts corresponding with old contacts again, including Tycho Geldnehar and Richelle de Mauvais.
• 768 BC: When Caliban Ooglie takes his rapier Lancet in for repairs, his fellow adventurers surprise him by paying for additional upgrades. Dr. Julio Huevo creates a special silver alloy for the blade, which Wick permanently enchants, turning Lancet into a magic weapon.
• 768 BC (Winter): Dr. Julio Huevo starts writing the Cosmonomicon, collecting most of his knowledge and scientific prowess in the book purely for his own satisfaction, calling upon the help of many of his correspondents and contacts. The Doctor is either unaware or does not care that the book might prove to be revolutionary in scope and impact.
• 769 BC: Richelle de Mauvais first learns of Dr. Julio Huevo's work on the Cosmonomicon due to their correspondence.
• 770 BC: Acharistos appears in the Mists.
