Former Inhabitants of Il Aluk once were, but no longer are, residents of the place. All the residents of the city who had died prior to the Requiem and the small sliver of the living who had the good fortune of being outside of it when the catastrophe struck are former inhabitants of Il Aluk. Joining them are those of the preexisting undead and of the newly minted undead who quit the city, principally either in flight from the rule of Death or for the convenience of being nearer their living prey.
