Horace Grenville was a professor at the University of Il Aluk and a friend/associate of Dr. van Richten. He corresponded with Dr. Van Richten regarding a frightening outlander necromancer named Clavius Keel. Horace became deceased shortly thereafter, with the symbol "XXX" left on a note nearby the murder scene.[1]
