Re: The Lost Journals
(Excerpts from the journals of Alexander Dreamfire, Lieben Farms, Borca, June 4, 737 BC) Things were going well for the first two months. The first crops planted yielded a bountiful harvest and game was plentiful. The workers were making amazing progress and realizing their lives will be better her...

Re: The Lost Journals
(Excerpts from the journals of Alexander Dreamfire, Mordentshire, Mordent, April 12, 737 BC) Rudolph's Guide to Liches has been sent off for publication. I was able to help him sort out some of the more egregious myths about psiliches but there's still gaps in our collective understanding. Once mor...

Re: Undead Senses and Emotions
I haven't been back to this topic for weeks. Life's been busy (work, family, trying to get back to school). I feel like I have to clarify what I meant by emotions being decayed by negative energy. If negative energy is the force of entropy that eventually destroys all things, then it makes sense tha...

Re: Undead Senses and Emotions
Salt, Ash, Vacuum and Dust are all elements important for life; it's the opposite of stagnation; Vacuum allows movement of the air, salt is essential to preserve food and gives it flavour; ash fertilize the ground, and dust is the way land move. Reads to me that, between yourself and High Priest Mi...

Re: Undead Senses and Emotions
I see things in a different way. Entropy is a natural force which avoid stagnation and cancerverse-like degeneration. At the same time, life trascends biology allowing unlife to raise. As their sentience is not dependent by biology I can't see why theyr emotions should degrade. No matter the age. T...

Re: Undead Senses and Emotions
That reminds me of some head canon I've been compiling on the nature of positive and negative energies. Namely, why the undead are usually always evil. I chalk it up to the fact that negative energy is entropy itself, decaying even the soul until only negativity is left. Hate, anger, sadness, frust...

Re: Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 is coming!!
If Paradox really does release this game (I've been burned too many times to say with certainty) I really hope it's not an Epic Store exclusive. And they had better get the lore absolutely right or legions of bloodthirsty (pun intended) fans will tear them apart.

Re: Quoth the Raven 26 query.
Dead and lovin' it. There was a post not long ago about whether the undead can feel pain or not. Perhaps the theme can be focusing on the undead. Lore, mythology, new types, adventure revolving around, etc... That was my post, actually. I may have to put some head canon regarding the metaphysics of...

Re: Undead Senses and Emotions
What are your thoughts on Undead senses and emotions? Are your vampires, for instance, capable of running the gamut of emotions? Are they limited to only the negative (emotional umbilical cord to its new "Yggdrasill")? Are they emotionless (ie: purely intellectual) predators? Or, are they...

Re: Knightly Orders of Ravenloft
I looked at my existing draft for the Shining Force and realized it's not up to snuff (for me). I'll still post a link to it when I can upload it to my archive site but it should be considered a first draft at best.

(Excerpts from the journals of Alexander Dreamfire, Mordentshire, Mordent, Feb. 11, 737 BC) Star Breeze, as the Order's matron calls herself, held a sumptuous breakfast the next morning. Perhaps I've spent too long in Mordent but I had to fight the urge to go out and begin the day's work after eati...

Re: Undead Senses and Emotions
I like to imagine the idea of being stuck with your memories, haunted by them, yet not being able to fully form them as you know you once did (or so you think to yourself now, given the scene playing in your head); the inability to empathise with yourself and the memories that you know are yours bu...

Re: Undead Senses and Emotions
You folks have given me some things to think about. I hesitate to rule that the undead only feel echoes of emotions they felt in life. Beings that static really don't match up to real world lore or ideas presented in numerous D&D supplements. I really don't like the idea even in Vampire games be...
