Michelle Spandeaux

Michelle Spandeaux was the mother of Pierre Spandeaux. After the death of Pierre's father, Michelle was left to raise Pierre by herself. She did her best to make sure te ostracism Pierre would receive deformities remained concealed from him. She made him wear a porcelain mask she personally crafted. Eventually he grew up and fell in love with Anne-Marie Renier. Michelle totally forbade it, but her son rebelled and accused her of being just as much of a bigot as any whom she wanted to protect him from.

Pierre's pursuit of a romantic relationship did not go well. Michelle rejected him, leading him to craft the Mask of Sorrowful Beauty. he subsequently won her love, but ended up rejecting her due to the paranoia the Mask induced in him. After his rejection of her, Anne-Marie ambushed him in a dark alleyway. She subsequently died of fright at Pierre's illusory transformation into a horrific monster (another effect of the Mask). In revenge for the death of her relative, Jacqueline Renier sent her minions to kille both Pierre and his mother. An old woman, Michelle was easily slain.

It is rumored that Michelle's ghost lingers on, trying to find a means to destroy the Mask of Sorrowful Beauty.
