Larissa's Whip

Larissa's whip is a magic riding crop that transforms into a venomous snake when used in combat. It was given to her by Anton Misroi and requires a Powers Check every time it is wielded.

In Dance of the Dead (Novel)

Larissa received her riding crop as a gift after she went horseback riding with Anton Misroi on the horse named Incubus as part of her training to learn the Dance of the Dead ritual. The riding crop was used to whip Incubus so hard it ran itself to death.

As described in the Ravenloft product line novel Dance of the Dead (the source material from which the riding crop was initially taken from), the riding crop functioned somewhat differently than from how it was described in Champions of the Mists. As an item of blood magic, it required some of Larissa's own blood to activate, leaving a red welt on her skin before striking at an enemy. Although poison was not mentioned, the snake conjured by the whip could open its mouth wide enough to swallow whole Will O'Wisps. Larissa used it to conjure the Dance of the Dead at the end of the book.
