Fressen Woodhall was born in Il Aluk to Edward Woodhall and Danalie Woodhall. He grew increasingly jealous of his father's love for his mother, ultimately murderering her. His father had him locked away in the asylum of Devering. There his reading lead him to develop passions for anatomy, physiology and psychology. He also worked as an orderly. This afforded him access to the morgue where he discovered a cadaver with more than a passing facial resemblance to his father. The deranged young man set about to replace the dissimilar parts and reconstruct his father whom he had been told was dead. This led to the creation of the dread golem known as the gibbering golem. The creature initially fawned over its creator but eventually tired of him and ultimately murdered him. In the interim the staff of the asylum was massacred. Many of the patients were spared, but were left to fend for themselves. Shortly afterward, and prior to the publishing of Van Richten's Guide to the Created in 739 BC, the golem was hunted down and destroyed by Dr. Rudolph van Richten at the urging of Jeffrey and with assistance of Jeffrey and the adventurer band known as The Hand.
