Fand

Fands, also known as "Glassnymphs", are a breed of the Arak with traits of both nymphs and naiads. These river-dwelling fey resemble impossibly beautiful elf women, but are invisible unless they emerge from their watery home, use body paint, or cloak themselves in shadow. Their greatest loves are nature and being complimented on their beauty, as they cannot see their own reflections. Other good-aligned fey and Arak view them as pleasant if somewhat boring. They can assume the form of a (normal) swan or crane. Fand changelings are only selected from the most beautiful and kindly mortals they can find. However, a fandkin loses 1 level each year of its existence, as it is slowly absorbed by its mistress. Once its level reaches 0, it vanishes and is utterly consumed, with the fand gaining all of the former changeling's knowledge and memories.
