Adramelech

Known as "the Scholar-Fiend", Adramelech is an aging dread doppelganger made bitter by his exile from Paridon. It despises Sodo and his ilk as debauched goons ill-suited for leading the doppelganger race. Adramelech has founded a secret and sinister offshoot of the Divinity of Mankind called the Divinity of the Masters, wherein divinity lies in the perfection of the doppelganger self.[1]
Relationships
Adramelech currently goes by the alias of Lord Adrian Ramsey (modeled after the philosopher Philip DuMond). As Ramsey, Adramelech operates out of the University of Port-a-Lucine. Adramelech's secret nature is known to Lord Balfour de Casteelle, who allows Adramelech to continue in the position for its academic and intellectual contributions - as well as a convenient fallguy, should the need arise to shift some blame. Adramelech also knows of Balfour's involvement in the Fraternity of Shadows, though not to what degree because of its inability to pierce Balfour's thoughts.[1]
Within Dementlieu, Adramelech claims Port-a-Lucine as its territory with regards to other doppelgangers, and is direly hostile against them. It lures others of its kind into its web and then dispatches them after beating them at their own games. In relation to the Living Brain and Dominic d'Honaire, Adramelech is independent. It is too strong of mind to become dominated, but it has had offers of recruitment from both sides.[2]
Adramelech is responsible for driving Captain Alphonse Vignes insane after the latter seemingly failed to follow through with Adramelech's imposed mission of eliminating its doppelganger kindred back in Paridon. The chapter of the Van Richten Society Research Files on doppelganger tactics tells the narrative. For its crimes, Adramelech is hunted by the Van Richten Society[3]
Adramelech has a good professional relationship with its old associate, Percy Blackburn-Bruce. If the An Age-Old Problem dread possibility is in effect, Adramelech may be seeking to craft an elixir for immortality with him.[4]
Lair
Adramelech resides in Harrow House on University grounds. There the Scholar-Fiend is served by a variety of vile criminals and other evil-doers. Their names include: Yvette Lafarge (cook), Genevieve Ducasse (housekeeper), Charles Douglass (gardener), and Blake (manservant).[5]

Timeline
- 687 BC Adramalech is born as Aaron Dramwell to a human mother, Martha Dramwell, in Paridon.
- 706 BC Adramelech begins a mission of spiritual outreach to its fellow doppelgangers to embrace the pursuit of self-perfection and to cast aside their self-satisfaction. The message is not well-received by Aramelech's smug kindred, and their mockery brews bitter hostility into Adramelech until it eventually boils over. Adramelech incinerates a heckler with divine fury. Sodo calls in some toughs to bring in Adramelech for execution, Adramelech kills his attackers and escapes into the Mists.
- 720s At the University of Il Aluk, Adramelech gains mastery over the use of necromancy and negative energy.
- 760 BC As a seeming experiment, Adramelech attempts to "educate" Captain Alphonse Vignes upon the ways of the dread doppelgangers and turn his wrath against them. However, the experience leaves Vignes a gibbering mess, and he is committed to the Mikki Sanatorium
