The Septateuch is the holy book of the Empyrean Church. Its first chapter concerns the God Most High, and there are six additional chapters, one for each of the Sixfold Scions.[1] The virtues praised in the holy text include honesty, penitence, and confessing one's sins, whereas heresy and witchcraft are condemned as the plagues that menace Malosia.[2]
Selected Passages
Predicants 15:5[3]
- Inscribed onto the wall of Perdition Hill:
Suffer among you no man who is slothful, but ensure he labors as is equitable for his due. If he worketh not, offer unto him no charity, but allow him to falter.
Proclamations 9:17[2]
- Inscribed upon every chapel entrance:
Prayer is the repast that sustains men’s souls in misfortune.
- An older, debased version found in the catacombs of the Empyrean Church at Caercaelum, which hints at the faith's dark side, reads:
Prayer is the food that fattens men's souls for consumption.
Malosians 8:6[4]
- Seen on the entrance hall to the Perdition Hill torture chambers
Only the faithful man sees. Only the faithful man hears. Only the faithful man knows. Trust ye in the faithful man, for no other is worth your trust.
