Gramma Imix

Gramma Imix is a cleric of Hala and a hag whose redemption transformed her into a bruja. She helps Mina Invich operate the Invich Orphanage. When in public, she poses as Mina's sister Monycia.

Before her transformation in a hag, Imix (then known as "Emily") was the beautiful but vain wife of a land baron near Il Aluk and a sorceress of modest skill. The efforts of Magravelle and Sarash alienated her from her husband (ultimately resulting in his death), destroyed any attempt to find love in affairs (with fates similar to her husband), and isolated her from any community she sought refuge in. Ultimately, she transformed into a hag and joined Magravelle's coven. Together with the other two coven members, she terrorized the land for several decades.

Eventually the coven moved to Invidia, where they did battle with a coven of Halan witches and ultimately overcame them. However, Imix was cursed in the process. She was doomed to witness her death in the eyes of each of her murder victims. Beseeching her coven for help, Imix was merely mocked. Imix fled into the woods. Her former coven sisters would encounter her again in Gundarak, where she had transformed into a bruja. She came upon them conspiring to murder a family and she tore apart Sarash, but Magravelle chased her off.

Magravelle caught up with Imix in Vallaki in 736 BC. Magravelle heard (false) rumors that Imix had taken shelter in Invich Manor. Magravelle attacked the manor, killing Boyar Invich and severely maiming and disfiguring Mina Invich. Imix stepped in at the last moment and ultimately destroyed Magravelle by throwing her in a barrel filled with alcohol and setting it ablaze.

Imix restored much of Mina's health, but she remained permanently scarred. Still, it gave Mina a new, much less self-centered outlook on life. Mina was initially repulsed by Imix, but eventually they became friends. Mina turned Invich Manor into Invich Orphanage. Imix has been called "Gramma" by the children of the orphanage for her motherly doting over them. Although Imix searches for a way to permanently destroy the ghost of Magravelle, she is wrong in her belief that the children are protected from Magrevelle's telepathy.
