Cora Gowan is the Presiding Mother of the Church of Belenus in Nidala as of 760 BC. Originally she believed that she was granted this lofty position despite her youth because of her piety or wisdom. However, she has subsequently realized that she became Presiding Mother because her inexperience makes her easier for Elena Faith-hold and others to manipulate. She is indeed wise enough to keep her resentment hidden, although she does often dream of the disapproval of the Apostate Mother.[1]
