The Presiding Mother of the Church in Nidala is the highest rank of office in the Church of Belenus in Nidala. Theoretically the Presiding Mother answers to the High Mother of the Church in the Great Kingdom of Avonleigh, but of course the Presiding Mother has had no contact with the High Mother since Nidala was formed.^[1]

In theory the Presiding Mother is the highest authority in Nidala, but in practice the Presiding Mother answers to the Knight-Protector, Elena Faith-hold.^[2]

Note that "Presiding Mother" is also the title used for the high priestess of Belenus in any given community.^[3]
