The Steadfast were the Mamluk Order charged with patrolling the deserts of Pharazia, defending travellers from banditry and monsters. Although based in the city of Phiraz, the Steadfast became respected even by the Nomads of Pharazia.^[1]

The Steadfast became enemies of the House of Dabae under the leadership of the Faithless Nomad. However, it was Diamabel himself who destroyed the Steadfast as punishment for failing to defend the Last Caliph from the Faithless Nomad and the Dabae.^[1]

The last of the Steadfast still rise as ghosts, seeking to fulfill their mission of defending travellers from threats in the desert. However, they also now seek to destroy Diamabel and his supporters.^[1]
