Nueva Aragona, more formally the Republic of Nueva Aragona, appears to be a single domain and a single nation, but it is in fact a cluster of two separate (albeit inseparably linked) domains, Resistencia on the island chain and Maconda on the mainland.[1] Both are technically under the rule of the rebel turned dictator General Martin José Maconda. In practice, the powerful Obando Family, powerful merchant family have economically separated the islands of Resistencia to make it in all but name independent of Maconda.[2] Although the islanders and the mainlanders of Nueva Aragona have their cultural and economic differences, they both share a common heritage as part of the same colony of an expansionist empire dominated by foreign royalty.[3] It is unsure how that common cultural legacy will be affected by the shrugging off of royalist rule that came with the defeat of Don Santiago de Quijada Y Alvarez.[4]

Although the practice of Santeria is not rare in Nueva Aragona[5], the leading religion in the cluster is The Church of Our Lady of Sorrows.[6]

Nueva Aragon was created by Nathan Okerlund. Its real life analogue is a gothic version of South America in somewhat more modern times than most domains.[7]
