Don Santiago de Quijada Y Alvarez is the darklord of Resistencia. He formerly commanded the royalist forces trying to suppress the rebellion in Nueva Aragona. The brutality of Santiago's tactics caused him to lose. The distress of the conflict (and the death of his prisoner Isabel de Maconda, whom he secretly loved) weighed too heavily on Santiago, and he died of disease. As Nueva Aragona entered the Mists, Santiago rose again as a ghost and a darklord. Santiago spends most of his time in a haze, forced to recall his past failures.[1]
