Gerard d'Honaire is a character first mentioned in the Realm of Terror d'Honaire family tree but also later described in the Legacy of the Blood sourcebook. Now deceased, Gerard d'Honaire was the son of Julienne d'Honaire and Bernard Loverde, the grandchild of Claude d'Honaire and Babette Batista d'Honaire, and the great-grandchild of Germain d'Honaire and Alicia Corgiat d'Honaire.[1]

According to the Ravenloft family trees in Realm of Terror (the black box), Gerard lived from 726 BC-733 BC, living only to seven years old.[1] However, this conflicts with the narrative of Gerard's life described in Legacy of the Blood, where Gerard was old enough to move to Mordent to study medicine and treatment for the mentally ill with his great aunt Bernadette d'Honaire Mousel and his uncle Francois Mousel. This act defied Gerard's uncle Dominic d'Honaire's wishes for him, as Dominic wished his son to become a famous alienist in Dementlieu. In bitter retaliation, Dominic sent assassins to kill young Gerard as well as the Mousels. The killing claimed the lives of Bernadette, her husband Hugues Mousel, and Gerard, though Francois escaped the massacred thanks to James Mousel's interceding.[2]
