Search for 3rd Edition "Lost One" source
I'm working on updating the Grand Conjunction series at present and I'm looking for the 3rd edition/3.5 stats for "lost ones". Help! They are not in the Denizens of Darkness or Denizens of Dread. Am I just missing them elsewhere? Thanks

A Lost One in 3E/3.5 isn't a specific creature-type. Instead, anyone who loses so many mental ability points to failed Madness saves that their Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma drops below 3 is considered a "Lost One" (and an NPC), until such time as all their mental ability scores rise to 3 or more.
Check p. 87 of the RLPHB for details.

You're welcome!
The same information on Lost Ones should be in the RLCS book's section on Madness saves, BTW. I don't think they changed that part between 3E and 3.5.
For purposes of converting old modules, just take some generic 1st level NPC stats (commoner, expert, or whatever else fits), drop one or more mental abilities into the sub-sapient range, and apply a Madness effect of your choice. If you want them to be hardier than that, use a 2nd or 3rd level NPC or a PHB class instead, although Lost Ones in 2E were pretty fragile IIRC.

Already did, Luc as a Arist 1, with Wis of 9. Not 'sposed to be combat encounter anyways. Doing it up for use as pdf afterwards. Will be doing all of GC mod's. Not too tough, only a couple hours work thus far and mostly done with NotWD.Rotipher of the FoS wrote:You're welcome!![]()
