By the way, it seems quite common to believe that photographs can capture things that we can not, usually on film. Do you think this would apply also to digital cameras, or just the old optical ones?

It is nice to see all of those photos again, some of them (like the church minister) I'd not seen in a while. I need to get time to start visiting sites like Shadowlands again

Apparantly so. I was on a Ghostwalk tour in old town Alberqueque, New Mexico, a couple of years ago. For those not familiar with a Ghostwalk tour, it is a tour around a part of town at night in which the tour guide tells stories of all the local ghosts.Ail wrote:By the way, it seems quite common to believe that photographs can capture things that we can not, usually on film. At one point, behind an old church, the tour guide suggested people with digital cameras try taking some pictures in the courtyard, and they may capture some ghosts on film. A couple of people had digital cameras and did so. Reviewing the pictures showed that many of the pictures had little balls of light in various places. These were similar to those shown in the movie the sixth sense, when the mother is looking at pictures of Cole.
It was a little spooky and definitely added to the atmosphere that night.

That's an interesting question. I would think that an optical camera would work better, digital seems so different, difinitely higher quality at any rate. It seems that perhaps digital photographs might at least help alieveate some of the hoax "ghost" photographs caused by poor work with optical cameras, although you can still get crappy pictures with digital.Ail wrote:By the way, it seems quite common to believe that photographs can capture things that we can not, usually on film. Its a shame there are so many hoax photographs out there, it takes away from any "serious" study of the phenom.
