Halan Healer

Post by whalejudge »

One of the players in my 3.5 game is wanting more power to her healing abilities. She's playing a cleric of Hala. I was wondering if anyone had come up with a healer-type prestige class for Hala. She's looked at the Hallowed Witch and doesn't care for it (well, can't meet the requirements, either).

Sounds more like a job for divine feats than a prestige class, IMO.

Either the Healer class from Miniatures Handbook or the Radiant Servant of Pelor PrC from Complete Divine. There are a few feats you might want her to look at, I think one spends a turning attempt to Empower healing spells. There's always the Healing domain.

Radiant Servant of Pelor from Complete Divine grants some great healing abilities, but it's also Sun themed, so it doesn't quite fit for Hala, it's better for Lathander. Iirc there were some articles in different Quoth the Raven netbooks that talked about how to adapt WotC PrC to Ravenloft.

There's always the Healer base class from Complete Minitatures handbook. That one also has the Combat Medic prestige class iirc.

Go to www.crystalkeep.com/d20 to get a preview of the classes.

Edit: Ninja'ed by lordsathien.

As for feats check out this site: http://realmshelps.dandello.net/datafind/feats.shtml

Can't think of many healer centric Prestige classes, but there are alot of feats.
The spontaneous metamagic feats and Divine Metamagic can really improve some healing output (empower, maximize, and reach because there's nothing like healing at close range).

If they want to go the Prestige Class route then build your own; a feat-type power gained every 3-5 levels would work.

In the Book of Sacrifices there's the Anatomist prestige class, who devotes himself to the scientific study of the secrets of life and healing. Their skills mingle medicine with mad obsession. As a practitioner of the healer’s art, the Anatomist is surpassed only by the most devout of priests. But an Anatomist cannot stop there; he is driven by more than the need to heal – the need to conquer death itself. Well it is a sort of Frankensteinian healer, but who says you need to take all levels of the prc...

In the mausoleum you'll find the very handy "Canon and Non Canon Ravenloft Material" excel document, which has a section called "PC and NPC development". There you'll find all prcs from the netbooks and the official books.

Also a correction: Combat Medic is from Heroes of Battle. Check out the Healing personified build in the D&D wiki for some ideas.

What kind of PC does your player want to build? Tell us something about her...

Check out the article "Blessings of Hala - feats for Hala worshippers" from QtR4.

Also Dion's netbook Substance, Shadows and Spirit has a Halan prestige class that gets a healing power among other things....
