The Song of Obscene Hunger is a one-way, excellently reliable mistway leading from Hazlan to Bluetspur. In Hazlan, between the Black Iron Shield and the Misty Border, there is a large, natural seeming spire of glassy, purplish-black stone known as the Black Spire. It is said to a memento from before the Great Upheaval when the blasted wastes and nightmarish mountains of Bluetspur lay beyond the Hazlani frontier. When struck by lightning, the spire resonates, putting to sleep and depositing in Bluetspur those unfortunate enough to be in its immediate vicinity. Within Hazlan, there are at least two rumors concerning the Black Spire. One maintains that its lightning induced, otherworldly ringing drives men mad. The other maintains that those hearing that ringing are instead delivered to Bluetspur and its abominations.
