Primeur

Held on the third Thursday of every November in Dementlieu and Richemulot, Primeur is a holiday that marks the first day when the wine created last year is suitable for consumption in the current year. Celebrated mostly by the nobility, tradition dictates said nobles attempt to precede their neighbors in offering up their newest wines to each other. Wagon races from the wineries to the noble estates constitute a highly dangerous element of Primeur, but the risk of life and limb is nonetheless deemed worthy by many to win the title of Primeur King or Queen.[1]
