Omou

Omou was a mongrelman with powerful psionic powers and one of the Obsessions, the special servants of Esmae Amarantha. Omou had a great, even obsessive, infatuation with Esmae. When she ultimately rejected him, Omou went on a rampage through Barovia, his psionic powers leaving chaos and destruction in his wake.

History

Once an outlander human infected with leprosy, Omou was somehow turned into a powerful mongrelman psychic by the land itself. The people of Orasnou treated him as an outcast, but Omou was eventually discovered by Esmae Amarantha, the mightiest of the Barovian Witches. She made him the Fourth Obsession. Like with the other Obsessions, Omou had a fixation he could not rid himself of. To Esmae, these obsessive qualities were important traits to exploit in manipulating them. Omou became obsessed with the radiant Esmae herself.

Omou foolishly believed (or chose to believe) that he could win her love if he just proved himself worthy of it, to show his inner beauty. Like with the other Obsessions, Esmae charged Omou was charged with finding one of Tatyana's possessions, specifically Tatyana's silver mirror. Omou completed this task and expressed his love. Esmae rejected him. Already unstable, the rejection motivated to take to horseback and ride through Barovia, wreaking havoc with his great mental powers. Some adventurers confronted Omou, and he was killed, either by the adventurers or his own overactive psionic powers.
