Captain Nathan Timothy

Overview

Captain Nathan Timothy is a natural werewolf and the former darklord of Arkandale. He is also the father of Alfred Timothy, the current darklord of Verbrek

Although Nathan Timothy masquerades as merely the friendly if boisterous proprietor and captain of the river schooner Virago, he is in truth a heartless serial killer. Although stricken with an uncanny amount of wanderlust, he always leaves a string of corpses and a swath of destruction behind him. Through these evil acts, Nathan Timothy earned the attention of the Dark Powers. They cursed him and bound him to his beloved boat, and, for a time, made him a darklord.

History

Nathan Timothy is a werewolf who was born as part of a litter of six in Mordent in 684 BC to Eowin Timothy, a werewolf, and Emily Gerhardt, possibly not a werewolf. He is the grandson of Cain Timothy and Elizabeth Timothy, the nephew of Ester Timothy and Sean Timothy, the brother of Irene Timothy, and the cousin of Clifford Dilisnya and Virginia Dilisnya, and the uncle of Thomas Dobbs, all werewolves.

Following his wanderlust, Nathan Timothy left Mordent to wander and slaughter. In 708 BC, he was seized by the Mists and granted the domain of Arkandale of which he was the darklord. He was cursed, however, to forever remain on the River Musarde. During his time of confinement, Nathan Timothy made the best of his situation. Nathan Timothy commanded his werewolf minions to ambush and kill any watercraft going down the Musarde save for his. In this way, Nathan created a monopoly on river traffic, allowing him to set the prices he wished. All the while, Nathan remained relatively unphased by his existence, even cavalier and content.

Nathan married Priscilla Schilling who was possibly not a werewolf. She gave birth to a litter of six in 709 BC, among them Alfred Timothy, Ester Timothy and William Timothy. There were at least five grandchildren, among them Lawrence Timothy, a werewolf. Nathan Timothy rarely afforded his children, or at least Alfred, much notice, alienating the young boy. Alfred largely distanced himself from his father (and Arkandale) once he was old enough to strike out on his own.

Priscilla died in 713 BC, trying to escape her husband according to rumor. Subsequently, Nathan kidnapped a young woman named Arabella whom he infected with lycanthropy and whom he dominates completely.

For all Nathan's evil, Alfred may have outdone his his old man in evil through his fanatical hatred of humanity. Indeed, Alfred despised all intelligent life save for werewolves. In 730 BC, Alfred was seized by the Mists and granted the domain of Verbrek of which he was the darklord. In 740 BC, Arkandale was annexed by Verbrek and Nathan was set free to wander the length of the River Musarde and beyond as he wished.

Nathan Timothy seems to appreciate the Dog Fights, or at least, he attended these once in 747 BC.

Bigotry and Enemies

Nathan Timothy is bigoted against the Vistani and may recount the tale of Bartley as part of his polemic against them. However, he is very wary about crossing them and goes to great lengths to avoid it. As might be expected, Nathan Timothy and Matton Blanchard despise each other due to their competing unnatural natures.
