Magravelle

Magravelle is a malicious, ghostly hag that inhabits the basement of Invich Orphanage. She bears great hatred for Mina Invich and especially Gramma Imix, whom were responsible for her death.

Growing up in Darkon, Magravelle was thought to be a hag due to her great strength, deformed appearance, and violent disposition. Eventually the townspeople beat her unconscious and abandoned her in the nearby forest. She eventually encountered (and was captured by) a coven of true hags, whom became direly offended at Magravelle's suggestion that she was a fellow hag. The coven mocked her; in truth she was a mere caliban. They enslaveed and frequently tortured her, but she had her revenge in the end. She manipulated them into transforming her into a hag free of their control. Then she turned them against each other before she murdered them one by one.

Magravelle eventually had her own child, killing the father and delivering the changeling to mortal parents to be raised as is normal for a hag. Magravelle came for her daughter and inducted Sarash (as the fledgling hag was named) into a coven. Later they would engineer the fall from grace of a vain young woman named Emily in preparation for her transformation into a hag. When at last Emily became a hag herself, she was known as Imix and became the third member of Magravelle's coven. Together they brought woe and mayhem throughout the land

Eventually the coven moved to Invidia, where they did battle with a coven of Halan witches and ultimately oveercame them. However, Imix was cursed in the process. She was doomed to witness her death in the eyes of each of her murder victims. Beseeching her coven for help, Imix was merely mocked. Imix fled into the woods. Her former coven sisters would encounter her again in Gundarak, where she had transformed into a bruja. She came upon them conspiring to murder a family and she tore apart Sarash, but Magravelle chased her off.

Magravelle caught up with Imix in Vallaki in 736 BC. Magravelle heard (false) rumors that Imix had taken shelter in Invich Manor. Magravelle attacked the manor, killing Boyar Invich and severely maiming and disfiguring Mina Invich. Imix stepped in at the last moment and ultimately deestroyed Magravelle by throwing her in a barrel filled with alcohol and setting it ablaze.

Now Magravelle's malicious spirit lingers on as a horrible ghost. Mina and Gramma Imix believe the children of Invich Orphanage are protected from Magravelle's corrupting telepathy, but they are wrong.
