Ladislas Sintesti was the leader of the Ebon Fold. Azalin Rex charged him to gather life force in Lekar in preparation for the Requiem.[1]
Before the Mists claimed Ladislas, he was an outlander necromancer in a land where necromancy was forbidden. After arriving in Ravenloft, he became a servant of Azalin Rex. Azalin taught Ladislas the Life Spell, which Ladislas used to reanimate his minions.[2]
Ladislas was fond of using Magic Jar to possess both enemy[3] and ally[4] alike and use them as his pawns and personal vessels in combat.
Ladislas has created at least one homunculus[5],
suggesting he had at least some skill in alchemy. He is also capable of enchanting magic items, or at least, magic rings.Beyond these esoteric skills, Ladislas has been known to use mundane disguises and poison.[6]
Despite his skill, Ladslas has several weaknesses. He is compelled to eat maggots, and he has a dire phobia of canines. The latter has an origin in the days before Ladislas entered the Mists as he was hunted by angry villagers with trained dogs. However, "his prolonged fixation upon death" is what is said to be the ultimate cause of his mental derangements[7] This could mean he failed several Powers Checks. It would make sense- he has an inexplicable Magic Resistance.[8]
