Kartak Spulzeer

Kartak Spulzeer is a very powerful necromancer from Faerun whom failed to complete the process of becoming a lich quite a long time ago. He manipulated Chardath Spulzeer into sacrificing Marble Spulzeer such that Kartak could assume full corporeal form.

Kartak's actions against his two previously mentioned descendants earned their eternal wrath, leading Marble to become a malevolent ghost and Chardath to seek weapons to destroy the evil wizard. In the cellars beneath Castle Spulzeer, Kartak discovered the axe] Maleffluent. More importantly, he discovered an imprisoned djinni noble named Gentar. For freeing Gentar, the djinni granted Chondath half of Kartak's spellcasting power. So emboldened, Chondath eventually found himself in a confrontation with both Kartak and more unexpectedly, his sister risen from the grave as a ghost. The confrontation ended with Castle Spulzeer being drawn into the Mists of Ravenloft. However, Kartak escaped being drawn in with it. Following this event, Kartak found his full spellcasting prowess returned.

Kartak was formerly served by Gaspard deLouca, whom helped him dupe some adventurers into seeking the items of power within Castle Spulzeer (including the dagger Aggarath, which could slay Kartak). However, Gaspard was drawn into the Mists along with the Castle.
