Gregori Ambermist[1] suffers from a unique curse. He is part plant, part human, yet he can interact with neither since his touch kills the former and warps the latter. He can hear both plant and animal speak to him, but he cannot speak back. They always taunt him for his past failures.

The son of foresters, Gregori was unsurprisingly drawn to nature- though he quarreled with the nearby townspeople (and his father) over their practice of logging. Before his curse, Gregori thought to be a champion of nature- one of the local druids. Despite his efforts, he could not gain skill in the druidic craft. Gregori sought solace in the forest. Some time later, a fire broke out in the town. His father was one of the victims- Gregori could not save him. However, his father charged him with aiding the townspeople. Once the fire was quenched, the townspeople blamed the druids (whom were innocent) and formed an angry mob. Gregori did nothing to stop the mob. In fact, he only yelled the question of why didn't they help. The mob proceeded to kill the druids and burn down their grove. One of the druids cursed Gregori to be a product of both nature and humanity, yet shunned by both. From this, Gregori has developed a hatred for druids, yet they are the only thing that can remove his curse.
