Plants are the chief constituents of flora. They are thoroughly dependent on light energy, although some use of chemical energy is common enough.

Plants vary wildly throughout the lands of Ravenloft. While most plant species are ordinary elements of domain ecology, some are noteworthy as environmental hazards, monsters, poisons, tools of the hunt, or food sources.

A rare few plants are "exclusive" to a single domain. Most others are "native" to one domain but may be transplanted naturally or by human intervention. Still others are part of the "natural ecology" of many domains, without any specific origin. When possible, these terms or their equivalent are used in specific plant description.
