Glovia Falinescu was the primary healer of Orașnou and one of the village's ruling council.[1] Highly skilled in anatomy, Glovia has also developed a number of healing abilities using arcane magic.[2] She supervised food supplies for the winter, and she made food for those unable to afford it.[3] Beneath her acts of charity, there was a more sinister side of Glovia: an obsession with bringing back her daughter, Isabella Falinescu no matter what the cost.[4] To this end, she joined the cause of the witch Esmae Amarantha, becoming what Esmae called the First Obsession.[5]

History

This path to darkness was a tragic one, for it came out of grief over the death of her young daughter by disease almost a decade ago. That grief gradually coalesced into an obsession to bring her daughter back using any means possible, including research into black magic and other unnatural means. Her husband, Lucian Falinescu, discovered her work and demanded she stop. Instead, Glovia murdered him and reanimated him as a flesh golem to do her bidding without protestation.[4]

Esmae Amarantha eventually noticed Glovia's research, and in the grieving mother Esmae saw a kindred spirit. More so, Esmae saw a person she could exploit. In return for delivering a method to implant Isabella's soul to a new body, Esmae charged Glovia with finding Tatyana's powder box. Glovia reanimated numerous undead servitors, including the recently dead Laszlo Vaduva, to aid in her search.[6] Glovia brought Laszlo Vaduva back as a wight and promised to bring him together with his wife as undead together if he helped her find the powder box.[7]

Laszlo commenced his search under the alias of Arik Lavus. He use his wolfskin cap, a variant hat of disguise, to disguise his undead features. Laszlo eventually purchased the powder box from Fillar Esven using money he obtained from various murder victims.[8] However, he began to suspect Glovia's ultimate betrayal and led an undead attack upon the town.[9]

Glovia actually used the chaos unleashed by Laszlo's attack to her advantage. She kidnapped a small girl named Sorina with the ultimate intent to implant Isabella's soul inside Sorina's body.[10] Glovia only needed to get help from Esmae in exchange for the powder box and perform the ritual.[11] Although Esmae received the powder box,[5] adventurers intervened before Glovia could complete the ritual and ultimately dispatched her.[12]
