The Undral Family was once a prosperous family of Darkon. However, over time the fortunes of the family, as well as the family itself, began to dwindle away. Fewer of the family sired children, until the only ones that were left were Marius Undral and Alara Undral plus their nine children. They resided in the House on Undral Hill overlooking the hamlet of Talanka. After Marius died, the couple's nine children disappeared, replaced only by dolls. Alara went to the townspeople begging for help in recovering her children, but they turned her away on the basis that it was the work of the Fey and the Fey should not be crossed. Alara herself disappeared, but returned a year later as a vengeful spirit, demanding sacrifice of a child twice per year. The town has suffered under the Undral Curse for a decade and a half.^[1]
