Like revenants, pillar ghosts^[1] are spirits of vengeance. However, they are not the walking dead. Rather, a pillar ghost is a ghost of an influential leader betrayed and killed by a close confidante. A pillar ghost appears as a dead body just at the moment of death, fully corporeal but carried by several insubstantial and translucent spirits who are nonetheless oblivious to the world around them. Spectral versions of the weapon used to kill the person in life are the primary means of a pillar ghost's attacks.

Unlike in life, pillar ghosts are motivated solely by the drive to avenge themselves. Only if other things get in the way of the pillar ghost does it take notice of them. Note that the pillar ghost was never updated to 3.x Edition, so the creature types assigned below are speculative.
