A noble family of Souragne. A branch of them living on the Old Cypress plantation were killed in the year 711 BC. Nanette LaLaurie, the mother, and two daughters, Nadine LaLaurie and Verette LaLaurie were poisoned by the family maid Alvina. Baptiste LaLaurie, the father, committed suicide soon thereafter. In the Ghosts of Old Cypress dread possibility, they may all linger on as ghosts even as the Old Cypress stands abandoned by the living.[1]
