Joan Secousse was born in 679 BC[1], probably in Mordent or Borca. In years prior to 709 BC, she became an anchorite. In 709 BC, while exploring Port-a-Lucine, she discovered the abandoned Ste. Mere des Larmes cathedral. It proved to be an ancient temple of Ezra. Based upon teachings recovered from its vaults, she penned in 709 BC the Third Book of Ezra and became the bastion of the Dementlieuse Sect.[2]

In the present days, Bastion Secousse is very old and of ill health, having depended on The Icon of Ezra to relieve her of sickness several times in the last few months. Who will be her replacement is a bit of a sticking point. Warden Armand Pineau was her previously appointed replacement, but Warden Leonie Caille has been called to her during her bedridden states, implying he may well get the position instead of Pineau.[3]

Bastion Secousse is one of the Obedient, though for the most part this does not change the day to day operations in Ste. Mere des Larmas.[5]
