Vladimir Nobriskov was a werebat born in a cave on Mount Gries. After his parents were killed by Dr. Rudolph van Richten, Nobriskov moved to Lechberg to keep a better eye on humankind. He adopted the persona of a wealthy nobleman and heartbreaker, and was nicknamed the Scarlet Prince. In this guise, he courted many women[1], including Monique Pretorius and afterward her sister Gennifer Pretorius.[2] While courting Gennifer, he murdered her sister to preserve his secrets[3]. Count Pretorius, the uncle and guardian of Lady Monique and Lady Gennifer, investigated the matter[3] and discovered Nobriskov's culpability. However, Nobriskov murdered the count as well before he could reveal Nobriskov's secrets to outside parties[4].

The deaths of Lady Monique and her uncle did not go unavenged. Nobriskov was eventually caught and killed by adventurers. Unknown to everyone, Nobriskov's bite left a lasting mark on Lady Gennifer in the form of lycanthropy. The great bat empathy she inherited from Nobriskov later led her to become a key component in the Night Swarm menacing Mount Gries and the environs[5], ironically returning an awful legacy to the mountain where Nobriskov was born.
Skills and Special Abilities
Werebats commonly have under their control several dozen normal bats and up to ten giant bats[6][7] Vladimir Nobriskov showed this command on a telepathic level, and he was able to call them forth from his lair to his side[2]. It is unclear how much Nobriskov's command exceeds the abilities of normal werebats. As mentioned previously, Nobriskov's telepathy with bats seems to have passed onto Lady Gennifer along with lycanthropy, thus enabling the formation of the Night Swarm[5].
Although he groomed the appearance of a mere foppish dandy, Vladimir Nobriskov was both a highly skilled fencer and a highly skilled manipulator. He demonstrated skill with the sword cane (treated as a rapier in 2nd Edition rules) similar to a fighter with weapon specialization[8]. He wooed and drank the blood of a string of women, only to later discard them and, after a suitable passage of time, eventually murder them[8]. However, it is unclear how Nobriskov continued to drink their blood like a vampire without resistance.
