Uncle of Lady Monique and Lady Gennifer. He is also their appointed guardian and manager of their finances[1]. He originally hails from Barovia, coming to Borca to care for them in their dead father's place.[2] He investigated the murder of Lady Monique, eventually discovering Vladimir Nobriskov's culpability. However, Nobriskov murdered the count before he could reveal the truth to outside parties[3].

The deaths of Count Pretorius and his niece would not go unavenged, for Nobriskov's treachery was eventually revealed, and Nobriskov defeated before he could kill Lady Gennifer.[4].
