Living in a filthy hut in Wayston with her black house cat, Thessaly is a figure of fear and amusement to the local children, whom dare each other to trespass upon her property before being chased away. Though an ominous figure, she serves as a goodhearted (if stern) advisor for the townspeople who may come to visit her in secret after nightfall[1] .
