The Sword of the Clan ApBlanc[1] is an artifact given power by the murder of Morholt ApBlanc by his father Tristen ApBlanc in 1833 of the Forfarian Calendar. The Sword is missing a piece of its metal, without which none of the Sword's powers will activate. Once whole, it acts as a claymore +2, with the following additional powers:
- cast cure serious wounds 1/day
- inspire allies as per a bard, during which time the music of bagpipes play
- once per month, speak with dead
- Inflicting damage upon ghosts of up to fourth magnitude
The Sword comes with significant hindrances:
- the wielder flying into a berserk rage if facing 10 or more enemies
- sword losing its powers for 1d10 days if used to slay a priest of any alignment
- the wielder falling into a state of despondency for 1d4 hours following any retreat from combat
