The Forsaken One (real name unknown) was once the high priest of the Church of Zeus on an unknown world on the Prime Material Plane. As with the other Seven Voices of the Gods, he was a tyrant and an exploiter of the system. As one with extreme administrative power, he had perhaps the greatest influence, at least hypothetically.[1]
The Forsaken One was the father of the man who would become known as "Hercules". Yet the high priest of Zeus conspired against Hercules with the rest of the Seven. He gave his son a set of cursed bracers that would cause Hercules to become berserk in combat and lose distinction between friend and foe. He also approved of the high priestess of Aphrodite's plot to defame Hercules and of high priestess of Athena's plot to summon a fiend to wipe out Hercules' army.[2]
During the fiend summoning ritual, the high priest of Zeus was murdered by Hercules. Subsequently, the Forsaken One is the only one of the Seven Voices who has not become one of the Living Gods.[3] Rather, his spirit lingers on in the form of a powerful and malignant ghost, bound to the Abandoned Temple of Zeus on an island floating off of the mainland of Olympus.[4]
