Talaal el-Khatib was the emir of Ibraq. Vahid al-Jabara, the sheikh of the House of Jabara, died by misadventure while meeting with Talaal el-Khatib. Feeling that Talaal had cast dishonor upon the House of Jabara, Vahid's son Ferdous arranged for Talaal to be kidnapped. The kidnapping was meant to be symbolic, but it escalated. Talaal el-Khatib was killed accidentally.[1]
Talaal el-Khatib left no wives and no acknowledged children. Because he died without heir, Diamabel appointed Jamal ibn Bishr al-Ghani as Emir of Ibraq to replace him.[1]
