Background
Red Eye (real name: Markov Niet) was once an outlander boyar on an unknown world on the Prime Material Plane. He led a crusade against the Upir Lichy. However, he underestimated their power and was defeated. He was converted into one of their number by Blood Talon, the first of the Upir Lichy on Markov's homeworld. Markov served by his master's side until his son, Mickael Niet, slew Blood Talon using the sword Lichbane. Markov escaped and eventually returned for his revenge. However, Mickael defeated and captured Markov, letting him be tortured for several days before bringing him out into the sun to perish. However, Markov broke his bonds and disarmed his son of Lichbane. He threatened his son with an ironic death: killing him with the same sword as the one that killed his master. Before he could follow through, the Mists brought Red Eye to Vorostokov.[1]
Current Sketch
Upon entering Ravenloft, Red Eye (as Markov is now known) has gained some new abilities, such as the power to spawn more of his kind. He is now considered the progenitor upir lichy within Ravenloft and has spawned a number of upir lichy from those who travel through his territory. Red Eye plays it cautious for the time being when hunting humans due to his humbling defeats back on his homeworld. Red Eye has created a peace treaty of sorts with the local Arayashka.[2]
The sword Lichbane was also brought into Ravenloft, but it was lost and is not in Vorostokov. Although it has no longer magical, it acts as an allergen to Red Eye.[3]
Creator
Red Eye was created by Eddy Brennan.
