An Outlander druid whose adventuring party was drawn into Bluetspur. She is the only member of the party to survive their first encounter with the illithids, escaping via transport via plants using the alien flora of Bluetspur.[1]
Whether due to the loss of her companions, her passage through Bluetspurean flora, or her lack of connection with a familiar natural world, Queen Hazel has gone mad. She has used to magic to establish a sort of sanctuary beneath Mount Grysl. Not only does her cavern contain all the plants of a forest, but it is inhabited by wild animals as well. Of course, these "plants" and "animals" are actually fungi, yet the provide the same nutritional value as real plants and animals, thanks to Queen Hazel's magic. Perhaps even more importantly, Queen Hazel's home is a dead zone for the arcane resonance which the illithids use to track down powerful spellcasters.[1]
