Dr. Ottelie Farringer was an expert in handwriting analysis, who aided Dr. Rudolph van Richten against Drigor, and was ultimately killed in battle with the fiend. It is hinted that Dr. van Richten had romantic feelings for her. She now exists as a ghost trapped in Richten Haus by the will of Madame Radanavich. However, she is unique among the night spirits of Richten Haus in that she has had the will to resist Radanavich's control.[1]
Dr. Farringer wrote the Illustrated Manual of Linguistic and Scripted Aberrations Indicative of Mental Disease. She was vital to the development of linguistics and handwriting analysis as tools for psychological and identity analysis. Her knowledge proved helpful in ferreting out Drigor's identity as a fiend by analyzing the Madrigorian.[2]
