Nayyif al-Tawil was a scholar at the University of Phiraz who learned of the Well of Spirits over the course of his research. He ventured to the High Cliff Fortress and convinced the Vigilant to show him the false Well of Spirits. However, he was not deceived. He found the true Well of Spirits and stole six spirit stones from it.[1]
However, because Fate is sometimes merciful, on his way back to Phiraz Nayyif al-Tawil encountered Jannat al-Bari and Kabir al-Zadeh. These two worthies knew enough about the spirit stones to save Nayyif al-Tawil from his folly. In the end Jannat and Kabir delivered him back to the High Cliff Fortress where his knowledge might yield some benefit to the Vigilant.[2]
