Marcus La Morte

Marcus La Morte is an intelligent skeleton whom has remained Good despite a long time as one of the Undead. Centuries ago, he was a Mordentish farmer who was in love with a woman named Helen. However, their love was cut short when the Alchemist used the power of the Apparatus. Helen's life was taken when the Creature rampaged through much of Mordent.

After Mordent was drawn into Ravenloft, Marcus met a paladin named John. John was gathering troops to stop a wizard to the north he believed responsible for the rampaging monster that killed Helen. Marcus enlisted, and they traveled north to Darkon. However, John died while hunting down an unrelated monster, leaving his army to falter and ultimately perish at the hands of Azalin Rex and his undead. Marcus was among the number of the dead.

Centuries later, Marcus as one of the undead during the time of the Requiem in the western part of Darkon. Although horrified by all that had changed (most notably himself), Marcus nonetheless accepted the invitation of Iosef to join his band of adventurers. Iosef was a Giomorgo adventurer seeking to find the missing Rudolph van Richten. Their journey would prove fruitless, but nonetheless Iosef, Marcus, and their companions experienced many adventures together.

After a time traveling misadventure, Marcus settled down in his old house, purchased on the cheap because of its reputation as a haunted house. He has learned wizardry from a book he bought at a Vallaki Bookshop, and Iosef calls upon him every once in a while to accompany him on an adventure.
