Apparently a human scholar and writer, Joseph Wilberforce is actually the identity of a young doppelganger encountered at the party at the Bloodhaven Estate in the module Hour of the Knife. The doppelganger attempts to learn what the player characters have found in their investigation of the Bloody Jack murders and, if possible, tries to isolate a PC and murder them.[1]
