Ione Demnach

Ione Demnach was a paladin and a member of the Demnach Family that lived in Demnach Keep on some unknown outlander world. Ione earned the wrath of the Lady of the Lake by slaying the Avanc. The Avanc had been the Lady's lover and a harmless hermit, who had been cursed with a monstrous form but (unknown to Ione) retained his good personality. The Lady swore vengeance and conspired with a covey of hags to unleash doom upon Ione. The Lady's daughter, Katherine, seduced Ione. The discovery of their tryst ultimately led his wife to a deep sadness, which made her an easy target to be murdered by the Lady of the Lake. Impregnated by her sexual encounter with Ione, Katherine spawned a monstrous offspring, Madchen. The Lady of the Lake sent Madchen and Katherine to slay Ione and his household. Everyone save Ione died in the attack, and Ione was mortally wounded by Madchen before the monstrous caliban was slain by Ione.

The Lady came to Ione in his last moments and offered what she claimed was a healer's drought, but was in actuality a potion that would transform him into a form like that of the innocent man he slew. She planned to thus torment him for eternity, but the Dark Powers swooped in and took her away to a place and time where Ione was long deceased and Demnach Keep was but a shadow of its former self.
