Hydras can be encountered can be found within Monadhan, particularly in or near the Blackfish Lake and the Tangledeep.^[1] Though there is little evidence of their existence in the Black Bay of Sunderheart, the people there still fear that hydras lurk there.^[2]

The hydra was all but unknown in the Land of Mists. Recently, the existence of the creature has become known to one individual who unearthed a mummified lernaean cryohydra in Sithicus. The well preserved five-headed carcass was dug out of a bog south of Hroth by a dragon disciple named Thaumiol. He seeks to reanimate it as both his servant and as an emissary of the vengence of the Many-Headed Devourer.
