The original captain of the Meeradler, a ship out of Lamordia. In 743 BC he and his crew discovered an unexpected island in the Sea of Sorrows. Soon afterward the island was named Vokkert's Insel by the owner of the Meeradler. Captain Biermans visited Vokkert's Insel four times, but upon his attempted fifth visit he was unable to find the island.[1]
Jan-Jaap was Captain Biermans' pet monkey. He was killed during Captain Biermans' fourth visit to Vokkert's Insel.[2]
