Hemarj is the assistant to Tarun Sarpal, the lead hunter at the Vanyabhumi Lodge. He is not Rajian, even though he claims to come from a small village near the Vanyabhumi.[1]
In truth, Hemarj is a Souragnien werecrocodile who found himself in The Wildlands via the Way of the Winding Jaws mistway. King Crocodile spared his life in exchange for agreeing to infiltrate Sri Raji and bring "hairless apes" into the Wildlands for King Crocodile to consume.[1]
